Awesome - I want one too.

St. John's looks so much better from the air.

The Bird's Eye Views on Bing just melt my heart...

From my lower-class neighbourhood...

To a proper middle-class neighbourhood...

To the upper-middle class where I will one day live...

And a drone would be even closer... there'd be so many cool shots I could get. I want one, I want one, I want one!

As a kid I always wanted to be able to fly (or at least have a jetpack or something), just so I could see the city from above. While not quite the same, this comes closer than I'd have ever imagined. The future is pretty cool.

But I'm sure as these become more widespread, restrictions on them will become inevitable. Aside from the obvious privacy concerns, there's the safety issue posed to aircraft and other people of having thousands of untrained pilots flying these things around. And inevitably, someone will figure out how to put a gun on one of these things and start using it for criminal purposes.

The biggest iceberg of the year crossed the Narrows this morning.

Set to one of our most emblematic folk songs. The Peace Tower on Parliament Hill in Ottawa played this song on its bells when we joined in 1949.

I can't pick a picture, so:

This may be a stupid question (like I should know from icebergs...) but has an iceberg ever blocked the entrance to the Narrows?

Yep, lots, every other year. It's VERY deep there so usually they don't touch the ground and just drift by at average iceberg speed of up to 4 km/hr south.

But sometimes they're big enough that they strike the ocean floor at the Narrows and stop. In those cases, they just send out a couple of tug boats and pull them out of the way.

Those drone pics were pretty epic, I think every city needs a drone set.
