Maybe the houses up on the hill that might look at the back of it? Still, that's a stretch...

The only real objection I could see to this project is that it would be a residential apartment building in a commercial/industrial zone, but in this case that doesn't bother me.

I agree that the most likely complainants are probably from the upscale area across the lake, but I'm not sure why. Maybe they're concerned about voyeurs on apartment balconies peeping at them with telescopes.......

The new Zio's restaurant, across from MHS apparently will be known as Baci Italia.

Construction is imminent. They plan on opening in December.

There is already a big hole in the ground, I would say construction has started

It's a sinkhole, not signs of new construction.

Haven't driven by in the last week or so. I was just going on what the T&T had to say.

Hey, this is Moncton we're talking about here - not Ottawa!

There where employees across the road at the old Moncton High school doing a foundation check Yesterday, and they where back there early this morning on the train track side.

If the schools foundation is sinking, or in serious need of repair it might put a big hold, or full even a full stop to THE MH35 Project.

Final rendering, showing the Baci Italia livery:

Sandro Speranza insists that the cuisine will be absolutely authentically Italian and that there will be nothing like it anywhere else in the city. In addition to the Italian fare though, he plans to have some items on the menu which were old favourites from Cy's restaurant on Main Street. Oldtimers like myself will remember when Cy's was the restaurant in town. Sandro's father used to be the chef at Cy's.

My mother was a waitress at Cy's during those old ages.

And here's some other tidbits. Another waitress named Yvonne was a friend of my mom's. Yvonne ended up opening Fisherman's Paradise in Shediac and also in Dieppe. Both locations now retired of course.

And let's not forget Cy's Steak Spice. Now under the name Barbour's in all your local grocers.

And, you can find some of the old Chef John Speranza recipes here:

And for those younger members on here, Cy's Seafood was located on the footprint of the current Chateau Hotel on Main.

I'm not that old but seem to remember Cy's Restaurant. We never did go. Was there 2 locations cause I do remember the one on Main Street but several people told me they went to Cy's on High Street not too far from John St I seem to remember a restaurant on John (not necessarily Cy's)that has now been replaced with an apartment building.

Also does anyone remember a while back I'm not sure if they had anything Professional but there was a Bring back the Old Faves flyer that had been Dropped off in mail boxes, and Cy's was one of the various "Old Faves" they wanted reopen.

I'm not old enough to remember it but \I do believe the original Cy's was on High Street. IIRC he later moved to Main St. I don't think there was 2 Cy's at any time. If I'm wrong someone please correct me.
Cy's matters!

New mural on the back of the Taj Mahal restaurant on Main Street - part of Festival Inspire, with a number of new murals painted on buildings in the downtown of the city.

This mural is gorgeous in person. It was completed by Dan Kitchener who is from the UK and has similar style murals all over the world. Major Cities like London and Hong Kong have his artwork and Moncton is so lucky to have had him here.

Festival Inpsire has done a great job adding some much needed arts and culture into the city and especially downtown.

I could be wrong, but I feel like a year or so ago, there were plans to build another building similar to the one built on the corner of Botsford and Victoria. Apartments upstairs, and commercial on the main floor.

It's for a new medical clinic.

The only real change as far as the appearances of the property are concerned is the conversion of the back yard into a parking area.

The name of the new women's retailer (possibly lingerie) going into the vacancy next to Colpitt's in the National Bank Building on Main Street will be Elle Mio.

More from Festival Inspire

Here is the back of Castle Manor (don't worry, the historic front facade of the building isn't being touched).

(from Mayor Dawn Arnold's Facebook page).

Are they painting the whole back or is that it? It's amazing! More and more work like that needs to be painted in the city and I feel like with Mayor Arnold we could see a lot. Also is this permanent ?
