That pic above shows how well the Barclay-Vesey Building stands out from the rest - great shot!

Why hasn't glass gone up in Tower 1 for, what, a month now?

Lol, try 2 or almost 3 months. I think it has something to do with the fireproofing I'm not sure. Our buddy Alan on this forum has inside info on the project and says the glass should pick up again in mid-April. I tend to think the construction workers are more focused on topping the Tower out and will worry about the glass later. I heard they are starting to put the base cladding on soon so that is excellent news.

Hopefully, that'll look nice.

Yes, it is... Like NYGuy said, you need to get passes. They are free though, but you can make a donation to the park if you like. They give you directions on how to get to the park... you pretty much have to walk thru a maze to get there. Lol. It opened to the 9/11 families on 9/11/11 then opened to the public the next day (9/12).

If you know you're going back to NYC again, book your reservations ASAP. Passes go quickly!

They also have a 9/11 Memorial shop on (I believe) West St, which is easily found after you exit the park itself. The proceeds of anything you buy there goes straight to the park, and you can make donations there too as well.

The crane in the middle picture above gives a good idea of what the tower will look like with the spire...

Is this point accurate? I mean it still is 6 feet below the Empire State Building but it will be 118 feet taller than the ESB...the remaining area looks much shorter than 118 feet. Also, how can those columns only be 21 feet...? There's no way those are just 20 feet if we were just at 1,223 feet. I guess things are deceiving in height. For some reason every now and then I'll see a picture that will make the tower look like it hasn't changed too much since around December, mainly the view from the south. Idk it's weird

Sorta. When the cranes are vertical like that, they are only almost 200 feet tall. The spire/mast will be around 400 feet tall.

I believe this is the effect of the building being very wide at its width that even a great amount of height for a smaller, skinnier building would look like nothing for this tower. Carlos was accurate. It's just that sometimes it's hard to believe that 1 WTC's floors are each the size of an acre, making it extremely large.

Believe it or not this is picture is pretty accurate, your mind is just playing tricks on you. Don't let the remaining height get to you, we're so close.

The cranes are almost 300 feet extended. And guys of course I believe it's accurate, my mind just didn't see how large it really was until that picture of the guy on the beams put it in perspective. I guess 118 feet isn't too too tall
