I did too because I went in August 2011 and saw it up close in reality, just when it was slightly passing WTC 7. I laugh at myself sometimes because I remember thinking it was "SO TALL" when I was there.. Now it's like almost 1,250 ft in the sky.. Bahaha! And yes, It would've been cool to see the originals rise up in the late 60's, but it's a new generation and party.

Lol, I totally agree! My last visit was a month after you were there - September 2011. It was past the 80th floor then, and I thought the same thing then... Wow, it's so tall! (Then I saw the ESB later, up close... I had been to NYC prior to my last visit, but had not seen the ESB up close... Then I thought to myself, "Wow, the ESB is massive!") I would literally hurt my neck with how much I had to look up to see all of 1 WTC.
I can't imagine it *right now* at the point that it is at, nor when it's done - that will be simply mind-boggling, for sure! I bet it will be like when people would stand in between the original towers and take a picture of them with the camera pointed straight up. You could feel your neck aching just looking at these pictures.
