Without the rails, your eyes play tricks on you, and you think they are dipping or drooping sometimes.

My favorite thing about the balconies so far is that they have a rather crude, hand-crafted look. The curves are not perfectly smooth, with some kinks in them etc. It reminds me of the experimental concrete on the Marina City theatre.
honte, thanks for your post. I had noticed the "drooping" optical illusion as well, and thought that it was me...like I needed to get my eyes checked. You just saved me $125.00 for and Optometrist visit

I went to the LSE sales center today. They've moved from the end of upper Wacker Drive to The Regatta. Just to let people know, there are more than 4 units available in Aqua. They are at about 93% sold.

Also, there a bit of discouraging news. Cameras are no longer allowed in the sales center. It appears that people have abused this privilage by taking photos of the models and posting them on websites and "clainmed" to be marketing or sales agents. Now only Magellan employees are allowed to take shots. I am going to see if I can change some minds, because a few ass holes shouldn't ruin things for the rest of us.

Oh, there's no info (at least that they'd tell me) on the next tower, other than they will begin marketing it in the spring.

This is against the law. I hope these people are being reported and prosecuted.

I don't know, compared to the workers, those ceiling heights look pretty tall to me.
This seems to be moving incredibly fast now. I wonder what kind of mix they're using, I can't believe they can remove the pole shores so quickly on those balconies. Most projects leave the poles up for a month. But may be they don't have too...

And we begin the main event! Very nice shots of the balcony curvature. I am very much looking forward to this feature extending up and changing 80 more times!

I am really curious to find out if/how they will finish these balconies. Right now they do look a little rough...I don't know if that was their intention or simply a work in progress. I guess time will tell. A routed edge would look pretty nice!

For all the water evoked images put forth by this development, it is amusing to see that it is land locked inside Illinois center. They should have swapped the Arquitechnaaaa site with aqua.

I hope the balconies are painted, perhaps even with a color that varies by height. Given that the balconies are the signature feature of this tower, I hope they are not simply left as raw concrete, with only the imprint of the plywood forms and visible seams. That may not be an issue when looking up a long distance, but it would still be a nice touch. Wouldn't paint also act as a sealer, ensuring hundreds of years of crack free beauty, even in the harsh outdoor Chicago climate?
Does anyone know what the balcony railing will look like? These must be custom made to fit each unique curve. Are the railing support "sockets" included in each pour?

Do those slabs seem unusually thin to anyone?

Given that they're engineered to support the weight of a few deck chairs and perhaps a small charcoal grill... no.
