How about a giant statue to rival that which sits in New York Harbor, of this guy? As a kind of "never again" memorial? It could be built on the Toronto Islands.

I suggest either this likeness:

Or this pose (as the world's largest leaning tower, eclipsing Mtl's Olympic mast):

It would BE the Toronto Islands.

No thanks. It's best to forget the nuclear winter of leadership and vision that has been his mayoralty.
Unfortunately, even if he is unseated next year, which is, astoundingly, no guarantee, I have a feeling he is far from done with politics, whether locally, provincially, or federally. And then there's his equally blustering and bloviating brother, who will probably be elected by the morons in Etobicoke North.

I'd prefer of series of statues, each portraying a frame of this:

Would it be as funny if he was a women instead, or worst, a female minority?

Oh the scandal.

Etobicoke and Scarborough, would still vote for Ford though....
Would you be thrilled if Ontario were to separate those two communities, so that Toronto could move forward?

Moving statues. Like that moving tower proposed for Dubai.

Would sound like stampede of brontosauruses (brontosauri? where is the grammar Nazi?). Maybe Brachiosauruses (Brachiosauri?) is a more appropriate analogy, given the bank-breaking cost of the Sarsborough Subway.

Please, and take away that stupid Scarborough Subway at the same time. That will be the world's most useless subway EVER.

I wish we could donate the Scarborough Subway to Montreal, Calgary, Ottawa or Vancouver. Even Kitchener deserves a subway more than Scarborough.

I wish we could physically move Scarborough to where London Ontario is, Move London, to where Kitchener is, and move Kitchener to where Scarborough is. Then everything would be right with the world.

There isn't really anything bad with it, it would be a fairly busy line. it's just the conditions around it that are getting people angry, and the way it has been proposed. Up until august it was a fully funded LRT line that would replace the Scarborough RT, but in August the Province said that if council wanted to they could make it a subway. Ford wanted a subway because "Scarborough deserves it" (the same reasons he supports a finch and sheppard subway, which are extremely useless and can barely support LRT yet alone subways), and not for actual reason such as eliminating a transfer, a much quicker ride in (as you wouldn't have a transfer), making the Sheppard LRT make more sense, and the fact that it has more than enough ridership to be justified. I think the thing that is pissing people off is that $85 million had already been sunk into the LRT line, and it was a plan that had been supported for nearly 4 years, and it was suddenly cancelled. There was a much cheaper plan, already in place, and it got cancelled for something much different and delayed the opening by 3 years. If the Subway had been the solution from the beginning, nobody would have cared.

I see.
There's also debate in Montreal about the extension of the Blue Line to Anjou (5 stations). Many say the Pie-IX BRT, scheduled for 2018, could serve the area in a much cheaper way, but nothing beats the Metro. Only thing is, adding more users to the Blue Line would mean the Orange Line being more overcrowded than it already is during rush hour. This project should cost about $1,5 billion...

I remember how Bernard Landry would re-announce blue line extensions, trying to claim credit (of course it wouldn't ever go forward, but press conferences....) for things that had already been announced before...and never executed. bits of red rag too.

Thank you, koops65. This rendering is very well done! These are exciting times for Toronto's core.

I'm tempted to hire you to do a future rendering of downtown Halifax.
