Also great news on the GO Transit, as we get this much closer to all day sevice and electrication of the lakeshore west line and the Airport Line. My prediction another 5 to 10 years before we get the go ahead.

As far as I know, they are going all alone with Alstom and their Citadis model. Alstom is also providing a new train set for the $59 million O-Train expansion project which is starting at the end of this month.

Good news about GO Transit, I wish Ottawa had some kind of commuter rail system in place. One can dream I guess.

That looks identical to Toronto's street cars. Is this what LRT is?

The most important difference is signal priority meaning faster speeds than streetcars.

So is the Eglington Crosstown going to be included as part of the "Toronto subway and RT" or will it just be its own entity? If it will be part of the system, the system map on the Wikipedia page should be updated with this infortmation.

what do you mean? The LRT lines technically isn't RT (sort of how calgary isn't), and will likely be included on the TTC subway maps. They won't be owned by the TTC though, (Metrolinx will own them) but the TTC will operate them.

Discussions about the maps have popped up a few times at UT, and the general concensus is that the maps will have to be moved from the overhead advertising spaces on the subway and instead take up one of the square advertising spaces on the vehicle walls.

Coming into Pearson has always been such a bleak experience, the high perspective of the rail deck should make the trip a bit more interesting.

Great proposals from that city - and I love that they're considering goods transport as well.

Those huge elevated buses are just about the stupidest things I have ever seen.

First, what do you do if a firetruck needs to gets by but can't fit in under the bus.
If they can fit under the bus and have to stop along the route, the entire system comes to a screeching halt.

Second, what if the bus is truning and you are underneath it but you want to keep going straight? It showed an animation of how easy it turns corners but of course doesn't show the vehicles underneath it that wanted to go straight and have hence smashed into
the base of the elevated bus.

I'm sure there's a solution. I don't mind the general idea of lifting the buses above the traffic. Could be like trying to sell monorails, however.

We were supposed to get a downtown transit terminal here similar to some of the above pictures about 18-20 years ago. City council still yacking about it; people still running across busy streets to catch their connection. It really shouldn't be this hard, but nobody in power seems able to even figure out to wipe their a**s properly.

Sorry for the rant, but it's frustrating
