If you still have one of those world almanacs - you know,
one of these, and you look at the credit citation for the building data, you'll see the name
Marshall Gerometta listed. He's really kind of the godfather of collecting building heights as he's collected them for 50 years. I met him back in 2004 and we wandered around in some buildings and tried to track down some building heights. Since I knew he was contributing building data for the almanac, I would send him email updates with new heights I found and construction updates.
