Steinbach

362 & 366 Main St

Conditional Use for residential approved unanimously by council

Variance to allow height of up to 78ft & 6 storeys approved unanimously by council (zoning bylaw allows 50ft & 5 storeys)

Ground floor commercial, developer said half of the commercial is already spoken for, and they are seeing lots of demand for commercial space along Main Street.

Very exciting development, I hope this, along with the new event centre will be a catalyst for future densification of Steinbach's Central Business District.

On a somewhat related note, the property at 245 Main St has been purchased and a local builder's sign has been put up, no word on any plan as of yet. This one is across the street from a grain elevator, I could see that potentially interfering with a residential development.

What development is happening there? Is the airport expanding?

Great Pic 1ajs! In Thompson EIC (Perimeter, Bearskin, etc) has also started doing pilot training for Indigenous through one of their companies (MFC - Moncton Flight Centre)

The new Thompson terminal building is being built across the airfield from the old building (sorry, not across the airfield but significantly to the left). That appears to be the new terminal in the picture. You can see that metal roofed garage in the foreground.

From Thompson Airport LinkedIn

Apparently the site where the current terminal building sits is subject to continual flooding.

I actually have this siteplan as a kmz file. I don't remember where it came from.
