Funny how the construction of three 40-storeys condos tower (Roccabella x 2, Icone 1), two 50-storeys condo towers (TDC, Avenue), two 38-storeys condo towers (Yul condos), one 28-storeys office building (Deloitte tower) and one 26-storeys condo tower (Icone 2) doesn't make that much of a difference in the Mtl skyline as seen from the Mount Royal observatory.

Exactly my thoughts... But if you look at G.S MTL's other future rendering (with a picture taken from the South), these towers make a HUGE difference!

hehe... bein la.. oui il y a une difference. BUT its not massive change... its funny because If a 250m tower was built now that would make an impact right away.

Artist Aude Moreau did that in March 2010 as an artwork, it isn't photoshopped! The word "Sortir" was pictured with the lights inside the tower.

Add the griffintown towers, the M9 towers, babylone, TDC 2 and Windsor tower 2, and we're gonna have a kicking skyline come 2016.

They seem to do that all the time in Chicago, although it's usually something stupid like "Da Bears" during a big playoff.

Here's my rather amateurish rendering of Toronto's skyline in 2016 using Jack Landau's incredible photo from Humber Bay. I've included only those projects that are, or will soon be, under construction and which will actually make a significant impact on the skyline from this particular angle.

City by the Lake by Jack Landau, on Flickr

There are a lot of significant proposals that aren't included. From left to right, they'd be 37 Yorkville, Holt Renfrew Tower, 599 Yonge, The Britt, 11 Wellesley, 880 Bay, 501 Yonge, Yonge & Grenville Residences, 72 Carlton, 43 Gerrard, 381 University, The Icon, 2 Queen West, Oxford Place and 45 Bay. I may do an optimistic 2020 rendering including them later.

Good job. Also missing, rather significantly, is Harbour Plaza. You have also omitted, I suppose on purpose, Mirvish and One Yonge.

Harbour Plaza wouldn't really be visible from that angle, being obscured by Ice.

Well, wouldn't it be somewhat visible as an indistinguishable edifice between ICE and Ten York?

Sure, but I thought adding a small sliver of building in the background wouldn't have really added much to the rendering.
