It originally was supposed to start June 26th, so they trimmed around 36 days off this route. Maybe not enough interest which is sad.

Westjet Regina to Kelowna is still listed with June 24th start to October 14th.

Good news as Air Canada returns to its Regina Toronto route Sept. 7th with the new A220-300 which I’m pumped about.

Everything keeps getting bumped back. Those A220 flights were supposed to start at the end of this month, but obviously the bookings just aren't there to justify upgrading that flight, as well as the YUL flights. Until the whole country opens up more, the flights into and out of Regina will be hurting.

This is really interesting. I can't wait to fly on those. I enjoyed the E190's flying from here to YYZ. Very comfortable for someone under 6'.

I loved the E190’s, and I love that the A220 has the 2-3 configuration if you don’t want a middle seat placement flight. It’s going to be wonderful.

Managed to book direct round trip flights to YVR for $153 per person in late August from YQR. Very cheap flights to be had right now.

They were comfortable for the six-footers too before they rejiggered the cabin and took away a couple of inches of leg space.

Premium Economy is still fine in the Embraers. But the back is not good.

The CRJ-705/900s were great too until reconfigured. 34" pitch even in the back. But now it's 31" I think.

Not sure I'm keen to fly anytime soon, mind, even though I got my second jab today.

Fair enough. I'm getting mine hopefully Friday. We're traveling early July. Can't wait!

(Does anyone know if they'll allow me to get a jab the same time as my wife's appointment? They seem pretty keen if you can present your ID, Health care and first jab evidence, etc - just thought I'd ask...)

Yeah I spent some quality time on those E190's from YQR-YYZ. I did it almost every week for a few years. Became very spoilt. Nothing else came close in Economy. It sounds like the E175 will be flying with Jazz for a while yet (ex Sky regional).

Unlikely, unless they had no-shows and are worried about wasting vaccines. (They have people on stand-by for those situations, usually, too.)

Hmmm. The alternative of driving all the way to Melville next week just for a Pfizer vaccine doesn't appeal...

Just go through the drive through in Regina. It’s ok to get Moderna if your first shot was Pfizer. There’s no point on waiting for Pfizer and doing so puts you at risk.

Ooooh! Non-stops to Calgary! I hated the Regina-Moose Jaw-Swift Current-Medicine Hat-Calgary milk run

Okay, the last part was a joke, since when has Calgary been anything but non-stop from Regina (with the exception of bad weather diversions)? Same for Regina-Edmonton.

Looks like full usage of YQR to YYZ using the new A220-300 will now start October 31st with 3 direct flights daily. Before then there is one of the direct flights using the new aircraft and the rest with the CRJ900.

Non-stop, I think. Remember that direct flights aren't necessarily non-stop, in airline parlance. A flight to Montreal with a stop in Toronto is a direct flight to Montreal and Toronto (same aircraft) but only non-stop to Toronto.

I think the A220 will do us fine. I'd personally rather more flights with fewer seats than fewer flights with more seats.

Sorry! Non-stop yes. My point was that there seems to be a delay of Air Canada replacing all the Non-stop Regina Toronto flights with the A220.

A220-300 Air Canada - 137 Seats Total
CRJ-900 Air Canada - 76 Seats Total

I personally would rather be flying on a newer plane.
