Like 5th and West, the angled side really makes it look slimmer from certain viewpoints.

Yeah, they've improved over the years, but I remember folks walking back inside and their lenses being dark for a long time before actually transitioning back...

Yeah, it's a neat effect. And great updates across the threads!

Just moved into one of the homes in the neighborhood near this and will be able to see the behemoth from my bedroom soon.

It's starting to show up nicely now from South Congress north of Ben White. While that yellow shielding stuff makes it difficult to count the floors, it does make it easier to spot.

I beginning to wonder how ugly this building is gonna be from the street. It's podium looks nice on the south and Eastside but the North and West don't look like they will be pleasant to look at.

And some others:

There are 8 renderings there in total. Just change the number before the .jpg and you can get to any of them
Podium won't look as pretty as the S and E facing sides but won't look bad IMO. Also will have nice lighting per the night renderings.

there's a good reason why you don't see any skyscaper marketing with a street level POV. They all look ugly. This building is not going to be unique in that way. Got to be a few hundred yards away to enjoy a street level view.

Also one reason why people are very passionate about the interaction at street level. A little human scale detail (shops, smaller patterns, art) goes a long way

The new Indeed Tower just a block or so to the east proves just the opposite. It is quite possible for a new skyscraper to have a very pleasant interaction with the street. Developers just don't want to try most of the time.

that is because they don't bring the skyscraper you see at a distance with the one you interact with at the street level. building is broken up on all sides 2 or 3 stories up. and they were afforded a beautiful building on one side to tie into.

6xg doesn't have the luxury of a 100 year old building to tie into and it doesn't seem they go to the same length that indeed does with breaking up the bottom 30-40' on 2 of the sides.

that said the renderings aren't finish out quality and you always got to wait for the very end anyway to see how it all fits.

Not an excuse IMO, there’s quite a few skyscrapers that take up nearly/a full block and have much better street level interaction.

6xGuadalupe surrounds a 160 year old building on two sides.

Not hard at all with some ingenuity and unique design. For instance, the lost opportunity with bungalow and container bar, or a centilevered approach. Facadism wouldn’t work in this setting. They don’t own the parcel either, but they could have design a plaza, retail, or entrance adjacent to the historic property or added design flourishes that accentuate the height level and features of the house.

Yeah. Indy looked sad on the 4th. Indeed Tower's lights have been doing some weird things lately, too, with only 1/3 to 2/3s of the bottom of the crown lit.
