Grand is better for LA and CITC is better for Philadelphia. It's really a pointless debate.

Steel Framing Around Core

Today I learned that the steel framing around the core will not come above street level for another month, so the core will be quite a bit higher standing by itself until the surrounding steel catches up.

Once the steel is up about as high as the core is now, Crane No. 3, on the northwest, will be moved around to the Wilshire (northeast) side, where the building has a vertical face, and cantilevered over the street from the "11th" Floor (the numbering skips Floors 8, 9 and 10, which are unlucky numbers) on up. It will continue to the top as a crawler crane, on the outside of the framing!

Please do not start these "vs" debates. This thread is ONLY for the Wilshire Grand Development.

This is not the forum for that. Please do not dissolve threads into City vs. City.

This is about the Wilshire Grand only, there is a separate thread for Philadelphia's Comcast Innovation and Technology Center.

Both are perfect for their respective cities.

Thanks for the update. So im confused about the number of actual floors. will it be like APEX where it says 30 floors but its really 28, so in this case it will say 78 instead of 73, or will it only have 68 floors?

so to make it easier:
68 actual floors labeled as 73?
or 73 actual floors labeled as 78?

I took a couple from my window to show how it's situated with the other nearby buildings. Sorry it's so small, am I posting wrong from Flickr? If you click the link there are a couple more. I'm no photographer

The image link you posted is https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3952/...a960b324_s.jpg

The final 's' means small. If you change it to a 'b', that means big, you will see this:

Enjoy this forum!

They are not playing games!! The core is growing like no other. I'm happy to see LA get a new tower that will definitely impact the skyline. Continue the wonderful documentery of this gem!!

The pictures you take are greatly appreciated. From you're angle you can now see the entire top of the building now that it is above the Barker Buiilding. Keep up the good work!

Appreciate the feedback. I thought everyone else's pics were great. So many interesting ways to look at this (soon to be) incredible building.
