Yeah. Ottawa is set higher than central parts of Gatineau (Hull, Pointe-Gatineau) which is obvious when you look out behind Parliament Hill.
Shoreline and lower parts of Gatineau are at a lower altitude than Barrhaven.
Then there is a slight gradual rise in Gatineau that I am at the top of. This is why I am at the same altitude as Barrhaven.
The Canadian Shield type topography of the Gatineau Hills begins barely 5 km north from my house. The plant hardiness zone changes right there too.
There is snow there before and after where I live and most houses don't have air conditioning whereas on my street everyone has it.
Remember before Christmas when everyone was saying there was no snow in the region? They had snow there.
