The luffer crane is gone and a crane has actually be installed inside the excavation pit. This one is now officially UC even by global section standards

In spite of how slow it has been lately on the new proposal front in Calgary it's insane to think that our tallest and third tallest buildings are under construction right now. The next exciting thing to be revealed on BP will be the crown. I can't wait til Telus Sky starts to pop up above grade and when we finally see the first parts of the exterior cladding go on.
She's so tall now she's starting to feel skinny. It's having a much bigger impact on the skyline then I thought it would. I know it's not but it looks like a super-tall in it's surroundings.
Agreed. Almost looks like one of those towers in Billionaire's Row in Manhattan. Very curious to see how the glass on the balconies looks. Hopefully it isn't too transparent as the design depends upon the continuation of the wavy glass from the podium.
Something hit me a few days ago and I mentioned it in the main construction thread. But we waited for over 10 years for 1 Bloor East to begin in all its design iterations and it finally begins and now is close to being completed as a landmark in the city and then out of nowhere comes Harbourplaza. The towers at least (not the podium) look exactly like the tower portion of One Bloor.
Weird, no fanfare, no build up, and no expectations. Makes the situation almost surreal.

Not sure if there's a crane in the pit yet - was down there this morning and Dirtzilla is still there connected to it's big bucket and it appeared they were still digging in the pit. There was a concrete truck there Friday afternoon but not sure what was being poured.
Looking down way down.

Yeah I must have saw the crane when it was resting down. I had never seen it like that before and it looked like it was a crane being assembled inside the pit. Sorry for the misinformation! It's definitely close to the bottom if concrete trucks are coming by now.

Job requirements has pushed me to control my acrophobia but, I am uneasy on a bungalow's roof and above 6 floors on a balcony. You couldn't pay enough to go up on a three storey pitched roof or a 30+ floor balcony.
I'm fine standing on the CN Tower's glass floor or Sear's glass lookout though. Oh yeah, Fine when I'm harnassed too.
Why? I've been on plenty 8-20 floors up with no issues. 5 floors and you could have a tree above your head still.
I have this strange urge to lean over railings when I'm up high, I'm not sure why. I also have this fear that I'll sleep walk right off a balcony if I had one. Currently I'm in a two story ground floor unit that I love but if I do need to move and into a high rise it will be one with no balcony. I don't mind heights at all as long as I'm safely locked inside. I rock climb for Christs sake lol.
Instead of bolting the balcony door shut, you should just tie a bungy cord to your ankle before going to bed. That way if you do sleep walk over the edge, you'll wake up safely dangling above the traffic!
