And it's too bad the Four Seasons camera is pointing away from the site. There appears to be a lot of excavation happening.

Sent an email to transportation.data@austintexas.gov and asked to correct the zoom and angle. Who knows maybe they might change it back. The Four Seasons (West) appears fine.

Getting stuff done!

562 used to have a great view of the 415 Colorado site, but it’s been down for a few weeks now. Best I could find now on that one was camera 561 which isn’t that great.

Greg/Walkable responded on Twitter that this project got underway yesterday. A big official groundbreaking won't happen until fall. That's when the excavation will have been completed and possibly some underground levels constructed.

Does this mean the sticky can be changed from Site Prep to Under Construction?

To be U/C we need concrete poured for piers/columns/diaphragm wall. I have a new updated list of tallest projects to post in the sticky thread, and this one gets a green highlight. Now I would like to confirm the status of River St. Residences before I post/tweet it.

Thanks. Good to know the difference. When is the estimated "Under Construction" phase to begin, since dirt is now actively being moved?

What is a Notice to Proceed? And who issues such a thing?

I'm happy to go ahead and give them a notice to proceed, if it matters. Who do I email?

That's an official notice from the developer to general contractor to begin construction.

Well now none of the cameras are working. They’re onto us…

Anyways, if they ever do stop working again, here are some of the more interesting cams I’ve found. Just note that the views change on these quite frequently so some days you get amazing city views and the next you’ll get a dumpster in some random back alley.

For a brief few minutes this afternoon, the 98 Red River camera was repositioned to show the North half of the site. There was a parade of dump trucks entering the site from RR by crossing CC then getting filled with dirt and such then exiting with their load down Driskill to the frontage road.

Some of the action this morning is visible on the camera. Excavator seems to be digging up the dirt behind where the overflow parking lot retaining wall used to be.

I drove by the site in the pre-dawn hours this morning and I'm not 100% sure but it looked like Willow street might be gone.

Figured I'd get one in before they move the camera again.

Just got through electrical review (w conditions). Looks like they plan to start drilling piers for the crane around June 28. Just one more agreement with the city to finalize. Wrong thread but same area & builder

Got a quick snapshot this morning before they moved the camera again. I think they're just messing with us at this point.

Looks like the crew is in full excavation mode.

I called and spoke with a nice gentleman with the transportation dept. about the camera angle. He told me that from time to time they adjust the angle for traffic enforcement or when they reconfigure traffic patterns which they have recently done at the intersection. He described exactly what we've been observing with the back and forth angles. It'll be hit or miss he said. Hopefully we get a dedicated construction camera soon!

Thanks for calling and getting the facts. As much as I want them to keep the cameras pointed towards the construction, I need to remember that these cameras are first and foremost for traffic and not construction.
