Thanks. Is that the only difference? If so, it looks amazing. In fact, I prefer 2 fewer columns on each side as there will be more glass and transparency.

I know its been talked about but what was the timeline going to be again for razing the Commodore once they get the ball moving?

I don’t think that a closing date for this eyesore has even been set yet. I can’t imagine that demolition will take more than 9 to 12 months. This eyesore isn’t very tall.

The developers have a targeted opening date of 2029 for 175 Park. The demo itself will be of an extended time due to the method and nature of the site. That's not really a lot of time considering everything.

I wonder if we are looking at a year and a half for demo. Hopefully the actual tower will rise in a fashion like 1 Vandy, which rose very quickly all things considering. I feel like the demo will take the longest and foundation. Complexity in that respects; plus its going to make traffic in the area horrendous.

But yes, to JM's comments, early 2023 would be ideal. Slower period Q1 2023, versus the Fall.

Demo itself is supposed to be about 18 months. Covid closed the hotel earlier than anticipated, but the city’s rules forced it back open, at least partially.

We could be looking at demo as we speak were that not the case.

Fascinating that they will be building the foundation for the new tower (and the platform over the Lex subway) while the Hyatt/Commodore building is being demolished above.

Talk about a ship in a bottle!

That way the steel can start going vertical just 3 months after demo is finished.

So will this be like 270 such that once the building is taken down to street level, there will be no need to build a new foundation and instead, the structure can just start rising? That seems to have saved a lot of time at 270.
