I mean I'm personally interested but I can see why you would want to stop.

Yay! I'll keep posting what I find. And will do my best not to reply to anyone's comments unless it's development related

made a pass out yesterday, bit of daylight pics. no noticeable progress updates inside. a little more trim on the hotel, Canal street smoking section slowly getting there and weather was warm, had some people using the outside seating for Emerils

poydras/convention center exit is still a mess but they have already painted most of the exterior to speed things up

Would you happen to have any recent pics of the hotel from Convention Center Blvd?

I look forward to staying at Caesar’s one day as well as the Four Seasons hotel. Both hotels can really anchor that section of the riverfront.

im a gambler so ill definitely stay there when its open, for a cheaper option as the rooms will be expensive enough, lots will be held for higher level gamblers, the rooms at Horseshoe Lake Charles, the old Isle of Capri but newly built land casino has the exact same rooms, minus the view

Appreciate that. For how often I'm back home, and stay in the CBD/Warehouse District, I've never driven down Convention Center Blvd in that direction since it started going up. It's going to look really nice once done.

Hoping that the whale lot receives some action soon.

the hotel is not very tall at all, there are times Ive come down the interstate and gone up convention center, you dont see much of the hotel at all until you are right up on it, even coming up Poydras, the casino blocks a lot, Canal you get a decent view of it, best view is from the river area

found a daytime one, this was 7 months ago so it was almost topped out

6 months ago from the 4 seasons/ ferry terminal area, thats as tall as it gets

^^^^ Right, but it looks nice though. I think that height is good for where it is and what it is. That entire corridor is going to look so much better than what it was once everything is done.

Not everything needs to be a supertall, but I do think it's about time for another supertall or two in the city. It's been a while. Put that thing on the parking lot on Poydras, adjacent to South Market, or on any of the lots along Loyola Ave. I've also been curious about the land on Poydras past the Superdome. There are some areas that can be touched.

I agree .. but luckily more developments are coming down the pipeline to update the city’s skyline ( which is very 1980ish lol ). The River District folks have another office high rise in the works, Tulane is planning several medical high rises for their downtown campus, the new city hall ( which could be mid or high rise ) and of course a refurbished Charity Hospital.

Unfortunately there won’t be a high rise at the River District and city hall definitely will not be a high rise. Not sure where you saw that Tulane is building a high rise - those renderings for the bio-innovation district are just visions, not renderings of anything proposed or under development. I’d love a high rise, but I’ll be happy with more infill of any height.

No lie those parking lots off Loyola are crazy !
So much potential.

I feel like majority off those lots are land locked.

The whale lot I will continue to watch.

And the convention center hotel probably would be the other river district high rise with the shell office. Unless there is another plan.

Separate : I rather plaza tower get redeveloped though tbh because if they demolish it I feel like it’ll just be left alone.

Turn it into like a hotel , apartments ,shops and hospitality.
And definitely go with like a better much more improved exterior
