Looks like Robins on Torbay Road has closed. Place was cleared out when I went by today.

Just as long as he doesn't get too cozy with Recipe Unlimited. My worst nightmare is Recipe Unlimited taking over Mary Brown's and changing up everything they do right.

Ron.

Has anyone heard about City Light Buffet closing? My mother bought a $100 gift card for my son and his girlfriend for Christmas. They went to go there this evening and the place is closed. A sign on the door says their lease was terminated. Guess they aren’t getting their money back ☹️.

I drove by earlier today and noticed a pickup out back with advertising for a reno company. I worked there many years ago when it was Ponderosa.

If she used a credit card to buy.. it's probably still within chargeback time. Check with the bank and file a claim.

I’m not aware of this. I’ll have to look into it. I purchased it for her and definitely used my credit card.

I filed a dispute claim with my bank. It may be too late as it’s been two months. Thanks for the info.

A new Pipers Store has Benn announced for The Village Mall, apparently in the former Labels space. Not sure how big it will be. I think this is a good fit for the area and may fill some of the void left by War Mart.

Menchie's has closed the Kenmount Road location.
The Mount Pearl location will remain open.

I always got too carried away piling stuff onto my ice cream at Menchie’s that I never used to really enjoy it. Because of this, I haven’t had it in a long time. It always seemed to be a busy spot though, but maybe others were like me and stopped going due to their lack of self control around 100 different ice cream toppings.

Menchie's doesn't have a very big space at their Kenmount Road location behind Starbucks. My guess would be something along the line of Little Caesar's to lease a space of that size.

Fun! Any idea if it will be a chain or independent restaurant?

An independent restaurant from what I gathered.

A&W signage up in Galway. No idea how that is a good idea with one already on Old Placentia. Sounds like Galway Tim's 2.0.

AllNewfoundlandLabrador had a story on it. Same owners as Vu and Slante, or something like that.
