Wow, I don't give a shit about baseball, but that's a great view from that park. I'd probably go to a game just for that.

Camden Yards in Baltimore and PNC Park in Pittsburgh are a few more with outstanding outfield views.

While Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati is a good facility, its "blessed" with a view of the murky Ohio and Northern Kentucky. At least with Riverfront (before "the bite" was taken out), you could go up to the last couple rows and see parts of the skyline behind home field and the first base side.

Comerica Park and Target Field are two more with fantastic skyline views.

The view from Comerica really is one of the best...

...but, I'd be lying if I said that I don't miss the intimacy of Tiger Stadium. I like the old stadiums where the best view was that of the field.

Apart from that, my only other criticism of Comerica is that its below grade. Same with Ford Field. I realize it's cheaper to build them that way, but of the newer stadiums, I do tend to like those that make more an impact on the skyline or at least from street level.

Well, the view from Busch is OK, but it's so classic, with the arch. I really like the stellar urban and lake views from Wrigley and expansive snow capped mountain views @ Coors Field - sitting up high, if you are visiting a city and want to drink a beer and look around from your seat. But you find yourself folded into the heart of the baseball experience much more at Busch, as everyone is so much more focused and reactive to the game than the other two fields. One benefit of being a baseball fan is experiencing how these stadia interact with the urban surroundings, along worth the geography and climate.

While not major league, we have a pretty nice class-A stadium here. Spent many summer nights here in the last half century...

Kinda cool you that it's right on the river, that would be really neat at Busch. That's a Cardinals affiliate team up there for those that don't know, and it's interesting in that they are way closer to Chicago than St. Louis.

Are baseball affiliates generally close to their big league clubs?

That definitely isn't the case for hockey. Edmonton's AHL team is in OKC, San Jose's is in Worcester, MA, and LA's is in Manchester, NH just to name a few long-distance affiliations.

Well, not historically, at least for Quad Cities.
