In order to reduce costs, landscape lighting (to illuminate the crown at night) will not be included...

I was joking...

I have no clue whether that's in the cards are not.

Though with a need to cut costs, nothing would be off the table I suppose.

They could downgrade to a very long string of Christmas lights.

Most people on this forum know that I think Saca has tons of guts and vision, and I admire him for that. But Lukenbill is another guy from a similar vein. This guy was so young and ambitious in the 80s. From what I know (and please correct me if you know otherwise) he presented a plan to the city in the early 80s to build a mlb stadium near hwy 50 and bradshaw. I heard it ran into opposition from those that felt the traffic would be too much...

I also believe he was barely in his mid 30's when he lead the investment group to buy the Kings. I don't care what city, what industry, I'll always have the utmost respect for young guys like that who are willing to take chances, prove the doubters wrong, and think in bigger terms that the community's established "old school" business elite. These are the types of guys that push a city forward.

I always ask myself "why the hell don't I do things like that?!"

good for you! I really mean that. I think you're a young person, right? If so, one of the best lessons you can learn early in life is to not settle for small dreams, but think big. Only then will big things happen for you...

I think it's the Department of Health Services..

I forgot what the towers are called...
The California Dept of Social Services (CDSS) is housed in the second twin tower. Went to both towers for lunch occasionally when I worked for the State downtown several years ago.

I heard some EXTREMELY good news regarding The Towers today from a very good source. Unfortunately, I can't say anything until it's made public, but that should be in a week or so.

Will they be built as originally proposed... 54 floors each?

That's my concern now.

I think the different floor count towers is an idea floated around for desperation sake, and I don't think The Towers are there yet. Aura seems to be closer to that mindset...

He can't tell us because his sources trust him to keep secrets, and if he broke that trust he wouldn't get info from them ever again. He's doing the best he can to inform us that good news is on its way without breaking his trust with his sources. He's certainly tell us if he were allowed to, but he isn't. Personally, I am very glad to hear updates like this; I'd rather know good news is coming than be left hanging without a glimpse of hope.

Your source was 100% spot on about Cal Pers being pushed aside, by John Saca. (Something i would have never predicted)...

So if your source is now saying that more good news is forthcoming, then that's good enough for me... I can't wait to hear...

you know what? I completely understand. I didn't mean to sound like that. I only wanted to convey my optimism to others. It does sound kinda lame though.

^it's cool. I understand your excitement and if I knew of something from a trusted source, I would have posted something similar. Like UE said, you were right on the last lead, so let's just wait and see what this news is....
