Tennis has stated many times that this is a lot of work for him to continue updating it. I know I kind of added fuel to the fire but I'm pretty sure he doesn't appreciate people demanding information from him constantly.

I was talking to the GM Samir Mowad a few months ago and that was his reply, basically he said if there are no major delays or issues, Labor Day is the projected completion with it ready just in time for SuperBowl 2025

they have closed the Poydras/convention center entrance for renovations now, the temporary Valet is also fenced of and has been moved to a small setup along Poydras directly across from the Hotel

bad pic but the new Valet area, was supposed to open last night but did not happen

Wow Tennis you are back with a vengeance! So much construction and planning going on right now- which means downtown is growing and evolving. It’ll be hardly recognizable in the next 5-8 years. Any movement on Plaza Tower ( I’m sure city officials would like to see it gone before the Super Bowl comes to town) and any updates on the proposed Audubon Riverfront and Six Flags redevelopment?

It'll be really interesting to see what the city does downtown in anticipation of the Superbowl. I'm referring specifically to the city's presentation, such as cleanliness, landscaping, streetscape and sidewalks, and overall just putting its best foot forward as the economic center of the city and the Super Bowl coverage --especially Canal and Poydras Streets. We will have the completion of several big projects between now and then -- the Dome renovation, Caesar's Casino and Hotel, and possibly 1010 Common. You'll also have Copper Vine finishing their project, perhaps the Jazz buildings along Rampart St under construction, and hopefully, the mess at the former Hard Rock site will be gone and cleaned up (bids were sent out to improve the site). Also, who knows what other announcements of potential projects might soon come between now and next year?

So, what will the city do on its end to enhance all these investments? If we could get a deep cleaning of the streets, lanes restriped, some pocket parks in vacant lots, and exterior enhancements/landscaping improvements around the dome, that would do short- and long-term wonders for the CBD. One can only hope!

PS: It also helps the interstate lights are now getting fixed. I'm resigned that things are now speeding up and happening because it's all happening nonetheless. So we shall see!

generally, for superbowl, they will fix some pot holes, repave a few sections in the tourist areas, fix only the sidewalks reported damaged and run the homeless off for a few weeks...when its superbowl weekend they will have public works out 24/7 writing parking tickets and towing cars...we hold the record for superbowls in the same building and so far this has been the gameplan every time

I hope they do more than that. This is an opportunity for the city to really put its best foot forward. I’m sure a lot CEO’s will be in town that week or at least watching the media coverage ; this will be an opportunity to potentially attract major companies to the area.

There is a lot of progress at the Sara Mayo Hospital renovation and rebuild on lower Jackson Ave. The rear parking garage is on the third level and they are pouring the foundation for the attached new build portion of the development, which I believe is supposed to rise nine floors.

I also recently noticed the old gas station across the street, that's been fenced off for years and years now, is finally up for sale. Given this big redevelopment, it would be nice to see something commercial there, though hopefully not a gas station.
