It seems that way if they're offering ready-to-move-into suites. Sure took long enough, as you imply.

It stands apart from the usual, but isn't in the same class as the best looking residential buildings in Vancouver (imo).

The bottom floors look good and at least it doesn't have green glass, but the design certainly isn't good enough for such a prominent location and height.

Would the original "crystal tower" design have looked better? For a short time after, people lamented losing it, then the majority seemed to prefer the current design, now some people really don't seem to like it. For me it's OK, but nothing to rave about. What about the crystal tower design, anyway? Any regrets over that?

I don't think it was ever in the cards, more or less a marketing flash prop.
Not financially feasible.

The Bing Thom design would've been fantastic, IMO. Sadly, the economics didn't work, apparently.

I was back to visit family at the beginning of July, and this tower was so non-descript, I can't even remember seeing it, lol. Not something you'd expect of Vancouver's 2nd tallest building. Dont know if that's good or bad...?

It looks great from the corner of Granville & Georgia. Tourists take pics of it all the time.

I like it, just needs that rumored lighting aspect to be put in place. And yes, it does look fantastic when you come out of the Canada Line VCC station entrance, and yes, I have also seen tourists taking pictures of it from that spot all the time.

So I think some of the negativity on here can be summed up as "Haters going to hate."

Well, you can't please everyone. Cuique suum.

I think the redesign was a missed opportunity, that's all. It's not an eyesore by any means, although I'm not sure how well it will age.

Isn't that the unofficial motto of SSP?

You sound like Caltrane "just wait till they put the LED strip on Trump!"

The "rumoured lighting aspect" isn't going to save this project from being a decourated box. The view from the west to southwest is great, but every other angle, including the main "money-shot" from the south, betrays the prow as a weak tacked-on corner element.
