You can see the steel of the stadium rising from the Perimeter by Brady landfill now. I can imagine that once the rooftop canopy is erected the stadium will be clearly visible to the Perimeter drivers.

Hopefully the Calgary will find a way to replace decaying McMahon stadium!

Stadium impresses Jim Hopson
By Murray McCormick, Leader-Post September 13, 2011

Quote:
Jim Hopson has a case of stadium envy.

The president of the Saskatchewan Roughriders felt that way after he and the CFL team's board of directors toured the new home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on the weekend. The new stadium on the campus of the University of Manitoba is to replace Canad Inns Stadium in time for the 2012 CFL season.

"We were very impressed,'' Hopson said before Sunday's 45-23 victory over the Bombers. "They are on target even though they started late. It's going to be a great addition to the university. Access will be an issue, but it's exciting to see them bringing it in on budget and on time.''
Looks like the new stadium is even getting props from those dreaded rivals of ours

If only Regina would do so good

Grand visions in Regina need to come back to reality, and build something along these lines....Hopefully in 5 years or so Winnipeg is jealous of Regina's new stadium, being just that little bit more....

That picture trebor just posted most recently is remarkable. It appears as though there is absolutely nothing around the stadium, yet there are tonnes of single family homes, as well as many low rise appartments that are just enveloped by the tree canopy. Really neat. ...or I'm a dork...

The thing is that just to the south of the stadium is a former golf course that was sold to the UofM and has yet to be developed. That is what you are looking over in the picture. T
