I too am a bit underwhelmed by this. AS is such a hodgepodge of meh design. I would never recommend anyone move or stay there, despite the fair amount of options it has.

Completely agree with this. Feels like a mr. potato head inconvenient island of conveniences.

I am one of the people you guys would have recommended not to move into the Atlantic Station area as I live right next to that Embassy Suites site. While I’m not thrilled with the design of the hotel, it along with the T3, Atlantic Yards, the future apartment complex and another hotel project are going to fill in 5 of the empty holes/parking lots in Atlantic Station bringing more energy and life to the area. I along with a lot of other people enjoy living here for the convenience and quick access to the amenities here, in Midtown and West Midtown along with the amazing views of Midtown, Downtown, Mercedes Benz Stadium area and the new construction in West Midtown from my condo. While I respect the opinions of others who don’t like or want to live in Atlantic Station, as a resident of the Atlantic Station, I’d highly recommend it if you are considering an intown area to live.

When I was in design school around 2013, me and my classmates had to do a group project on Atlanta and interview people at AS. Everything was going well until a security guard came up told us we had to leave as it’s private property and you’re not allowed to film or take pictures anywhere. One of the group members was even a resident that lived above h&m. No skateboards but bikes are allowed. Weird place. Always want to just get in and out of there real quick.

I’ve filmed and taken pictures all over the complex and never once had a problem since the first stores opened. Maybe it’s all in the approach and how you act toward people.

You can't take photos with a DSLR, but you can take it with a regular camera phone. I tried taking photos with my DSLR and a security guard also approached me asking if I can put away my DSLR.

Haha what are you insinuating with that last sentence? There's a huge list of rules on their website. It’s rediculous.

Dual-branded hotel project planned for Atlantic Station

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...-atlantic.html

Quote:
Plans were just filed in Atlanta for the project that would come to a nearly one-acre site at 17th Street and Atlantic Drive. The site is a gap along Atlantic Station’s parking deck, sandwiched between the Twelve Midtown Autograph Collection hotel and the BB&T Tower.

Atlantic Station apartments being converted to condos

https://www.bizjournals.com/atlanta/...source=twitter

Quote:
Another intown condo conversion is underway.

Owners of Atlantic Station’s 17th Street Lofts apartments are converting the project to condominiums. The 147-unit project will feature one, two and three-bedroom units priced from $400,000 to $600,000.

Project owner CF Real Estate Services chose Engel & Völkers Atlanta to market the condos for sale.

The lofts are located at 260 18th St.

The District Lofts at Atlantic Station mark the second condo conversion announced in the past month. In March, TriBridge Residential said it was converting Ivy Hall Apartments to condos. The property at 625 Piedmont Avenue will be renamed Harper on Piedmont and offer units from the $200,000s to $600,000s.

Exactly...the 'brick' sounds like cardboard when you knock on it.
I appreciate all the amenities and services available at Atlantic Station but if I lived there, I would always feel isolated from the other side of the connector, where I really wanted to live.
