I think the roof will be just above the top of the cranes.

"I love this tower, but it is disappointing and bland." That is a nice coherent thought you've got going there...

But anyway, I am very excited for the setback.

The next jump of steel is where the setback happens right? I cant wait any longer Im so anxious to see the setback. This building keeps on getting better and better as it rises this might become my favorite tower at least from that last angle of the last picture!!

Agreed - this tower is definitely my favourite as it oozes class. While other towers and cities have to be audacious to make a statement, all the WTC towers, and in particular 4 WTC don't have to try to get noticed, they just get noticed. Loving this building!

Sure Four World Trade Center might look bland, but so did the Twin Towers. What was wrong with that? The Twin Towers still had a presence so would Four World Trade Center. It would fit right in with the history of the site.

But the twin towers were noticed and beloved for their immense size. This is the shortest building in the WTC. Although it is and will turn out to be beautiful, it is so damn close to 3WTC that they look like siamese twins. The only building in the WTC complex that truly has its free space is 1WTC.

Actually although off topic One World Trade Center doesn't have free space. From vantage points One World Trade Center would be blocked by Two World Trade Center at some locations. This blockage would prevent One World Trade Center from being visible except for the mast.

Just thought I'd point out that 4 WTC is not the shortest in the WTC (of the skyscrapers): 7 WTC is.

And when completed 4 WTC will be the 5th or 6th tallest building in NYC. So it'll hardly be lost in the grand scheme of things.

In my humble opinion I think the difference between the new WTC complex and the old is that the old looked stunning from the skyline. The general consensus though is that it was quite soulless walking around the twin towers. The new WTC complex is definitely intended to be more inviting close by and around the memorial and the towers are going to look awesome up close - and in particular 4 WTC will look amazing up close.

Wow can't believe I said 4WTC was the shortest without thinking. Looks like 7WTC has turned out to be an after thought.

Actually I don't really thing much about 7 World Trade Center anymore. When I think of the World Trade Center, 7 World Trade Center doesn't come up much. It's the 4 marauding giant towers that I really think about.

lol! i agree... i think a lot of it is because it was built so many years ago (4), and when the new ones are built, it will be considered old... by the time the whole complex is built, it'll be around 7 years old

also, it's the one with the most simple design, and not actually located on the world trade center site

"As of November 16th, 2011, the building's steel has reached the 56th floor, concrete to the 50th floor, and glass to the 33rd floor. Topping out 4 WTC is expected by April 2012."

I disagree. If anything, Tower 7 will be the hidden gem of the complex. Understated in its simplicity, but the materials used make it a real looker.

And a 7 year old building isn't "old."

Anyway. I love Tower 4 myself. At first I hated it. Then I was saddened by the switch from matte glass to reflective glass. Then I saw it in person, loved it, and realized that if Towers 2 and 3 take a while to get built, Towers 1 and 4 will make a great set of "twins" until 2 and 3 are built.

Nice....so both towers will be topped out ( tower 1 is due to be topped out in the first quarter of 2012) by April.

As my kids use to count about Christmas time.... " how many more wakeups till Christmas?" So, how many more wakeups til April???
