Is the Traders Joe’s on Tulane Ave still a go? Haven’t heard anything new on it since it was first reported.

Glad to see this project seems to be moving forward - although it seems like there are still more hurdles to overcome. It is incredibly frustrating that the city gets funding for projects like this but can't seem to get its act together to actually proceed to construction. Would love to see this and the DPS 01 projects actually move forward.

City threatening to demo the plaza, if only they could strip all assets from this guy and banish him from the state, it would be a better place

I'm hoping that the building can be saved. It's an iconic example of mid-century modern architecture, and has the perfect floor plate size for apartments or hotel rooms. The views would be outstanding. Jaeger needs to sell to a developer with the money to actually repair and reuse the building ASAP.

I thought he actually did sell it recently. Am I just making this up?

Lucy's, a New Orleans staple, will reveal $3.5 million restaurant expansion in the CBD

Lucy's Retired Surfers Bar and Restaurant will celebrate its $3.5 million expansion on Sunday with free drinks and giveaways at their Saints game day party.

The Central Business District business, a beloved New Orleans staple at 701 Tchoupitoulas St., is adding more dining and drinking space with the addition of the historic building next door.

The additions, which total 8,000 square feet, include a new dining room, private event space, an expanded courtyard, more balcony space, additional restrooms and an elevator. Lucy's worked with the Historic District Landmarks through the expansion.

I think he asked for a delay on fines etc. because he said he had potential buyers for it. Haven't heard anything about it actually selling.

I’m guessing he only said that to delay all those hefty fines he was going to have to pay.Personally , I don’t think he has any buyers lined up. I’ll miss seeing Plaza Tower whenever I visit; but it’s become an eyesore and a major
safety hazard- time for it to be put out of its misery.

Big news. Gayle Benson donates money for Oschner to create a children's hospital. Says they want it to rival Texas and Boston Children's hospitals. To built on the west side of the main campus, includes tearing down Oschner-owned houses on Betz and trying to purchase Betz St. from the parish. Undisclosed amount but it's a 343000 sq ft project so this is a big donation.
