Tribune is reporting that the hotel has topped out. Bally’s Chairman Soo Kim said the casino was able to get a legislative timeline extension and will open 1st quarter of 2027.

Couldn't snap a pic while biking today, but the casino tower is looking great from the Milwaukee Ave bridge over the Ohio St-Kennedy ramp thing.

It's so separated from the rest of the skyline behind it (cuz of the river and lower-lying buildings in River North) that there's a huge contrast in scale. Makes the casino look huge

Yeah I completely agree. This single building really dominates the views looking west in River North and looking east from West Town. I was on the river this morning and it's even more dramatic from the North Branch of the river.

If my mapping is correct, this building, plus the forthcoming development near the old Salvation Army and the new development on Goose Island (Halsted Pointe) should put about 5-9 28+ story high rises within .5 miles here which might actually connect/extend the skyline west dramatically.

It it quite prominent from the Fulton Market area

I am also happy to announce that I have now moved back to Chicago but permanently now, and I look forward to providing this forum with plenty of photo updates of various projects under construction

I'm surprised the casino is just tall enough to appear in the skyline from the NW

I just noticed the subtle vertical “stripes” in the curtainwall…. seems like they used gray glass in three slightly different tones. Kinda like the Greektown Casino tower in Detroit, but way more muted. It seems more visible on the SW facade facing the Ohio Feeder ramp.

I noticed the same thing yesterday. The curtain wall on this looks fantastic. Once all bundled up the sunrises and sunsets will be stunners.

It's fascinating to me how they are installing the glass on the concrete shear wall. Very cool process to watch live!
