When I drove by yesterday (2:33 pm), the derrick crane was removing a mast segment, I did not see that, I was looking at it for a full red traffic light.
I'm half blind (60 years old in April).

Some helicopter video here but it's hard to tell exactly what happened. Seems like there are some crane parts on the roof but not sure if that intended or if it dropped.

This had nothing to do with the tower crane (removal) or that white derrick crane, looks to me like they were assembling or dissembling a second derrick crane (red) and the jib was miss handled?

Or the derrick crane had a failure in operation, must have been scary, ether way, at street level, the area should be cordon off (danger tape) when a derrick crane is in work mode.
You wouldn't want a shard of glass hitting your shoulder falling from that height.

At least the sidewalk has containers covering the sidewalk section. Would that glass have been tempered and shatter into tiny pieces? Not sure if anyone can tell by the openings in the glass..

Jan 28, 2024 - (Playing with my new S24 camera. Click for 12MP and 50MP variants.)
Lot of landscaping on the podium deck plus some playground equipment.

Thanks for the photos!
I wonder is anyone knows when phase 2 may start? I was hoping they will keep the momentum and keep going like Surrey’s King George HUB

I...I'd like a bit of a break between construction periods :'( I'm going to be sad when the closer towers finally block all my northern views.

It's definitely an upgrade from my S10 which had a very weak battery after 4 years. The post processing on the cameras are a bit weird and hard to control. Notice how different the colors are on my two photos.

Not sure exactly which buildings this includes but seems like there won't be much of a break.

That would be the 37-storey office tower site, but no word on when that would be built
(Q3 2026 may be optimistic for a 37 storey tower)

PS - nice to see from the pics that the retail flanking the walkway under the guideway can be occupied while Phase 2 is being built.

I thought phase 2 included all three towers south of the tracks.

I tried to overlay the site plan on Google maps. So long view of the Lions

Actually another leasing document on their site already has it pushed to Q1 2027

Yup - outlined in gray (not just the red one) on the plan I posted.

That webpage also has 375 East 1st Ave with availability in Q4 2024.
Is that out of the ground yet?

BTW - I can't recall, but is the level 1 retail space big enough for a big box retailer like Winners/Homesense?
The webpage shows the level 3 (really level 2, I think) having a 50,000+ sq ft space that would be good for them,
but is being marketed as office space.

Nice pic (probably older since pre-crane removal) posted to the ONNI twitter January 24th:

Q1 2027 is unrealistic completion date, unless they literally start construction tomorrow.

Yeah I noticed that as well and assumed it's just out dated info that got included since all their other pages have those new dates in 3-4 (?) years.

The most recent was in March 2023, which involved a grinding disc that fell 35 stories and struck a worker.
