The Blue Note is now Smoky Mountain Pizza. I had neighbors five or so years ago who used to own Le Poulet Rouge when it was closed and since then has been a Mexican restaurant and is now Wise Guy out of the Wood River Valley. Flying Pie is still flying high and will even deliver beer and wine to your door along with the pizza

Again great pictures Sawtooth & AB. New and old sight lines to enjoy. I also dig those new shades and shaded tables in the Grove. Just checked their site, looks like the Wifi is up and running too.... I may have to move out of the coffee houses and into the Grove to work this summer. http://thegroveplaza.com/free-public...e-grove-plaza/

Suppose my only question -- entirely unrelated to the great pictures, is can Mr. Carley please build a 10 story parking garage instead of 8?

Friday June 23, 2017 we have a new tallest in the west. The Los Angeles Wilshire Grand Center is open at 1,100 feet with 73 floors, 900 hotel rooms and 350,000 square feet of office space. Also 45,000 square feet of shops and restaurants.
70th floor pool lounge has a bar area with a billion dollar view.(diffidently on my list for a cocktail or two) Korean Air spent that on this super luxury hotel / office high-rise.
Los Angeles has over 20 buildings over 35 stories planned or under construction.

Downtown is so easy to explore on foot and feels so much larger than before plus the verdant greenery and river are easy on the eyes which is great for a visitor. Congrats on your beautiful and growing city!
I forgot to quote you on my previous post when I shared a pic of Wild Root.
As a resident of this city I am definitely proud of our park like setting. I can't imagine living in a city without a river flowing through its heart.

Maybe I will run into you on The Grove sometime with a camera wrapped around my neck.

I hope my photos are enjoyable for all of you. There is so much going on with current development, recently finished buildings and more on the way, so there is a lot to photograph. Plus I'm a camera nerd and live within walking and easy biking distance of downtown, so I am downtown quite often and glad to share here at SSP. which has been obvious the past 10 years.

To begin this set, and in time for a long summer, a new local ice cream shop is opening up on Broad Street in BoDo. This place will serve wine sorbets and beer infused ice cream.

Thanks, Sawtooth, they are very enjoyable! Even though I'm here myself, your photos are much better than mine.

The Stil looks interesting. Hope it opens before I have to leave in July.

Anybody else disappointed in how the silo turned out? I'm not sure what I was imagining but it wasn't this... maybe one that was stainless steel?

Yes your photos are enjoyable Sawtooth! Your enthusiasm and love for Boise is evident in your photography. You keep me coming back to this forum and I am sure this is the same for other people too. Thx for the Wild Root pic and that ice cream shop would be illegal here in Utah.

I found this:
https://www.multihousingnews.com/pos...tle-community/

CBRE Lines Up $14M Financing for New Idaho Community

The company worked on behalf of the borrower, 5th and Idaho Apartments LLC. The five-story building will be located in the historic district of Old Boise, Idaho.

https://media.atre.yardi.com/1/59210...jpg?preset=max

Quote:
The five-story building will feature a mix of studio, lofts, and one- and two-bedroom units. Amenities will include 66 underground and 11 surface parking spaces, a 5th floor deck, on-site bike storage and a ground retail space.

Hummel Architects together with GGLO of Seattle provided the architectural services for the project. Engineered Structured Inc. was the general constructor.

For everyone following this one closely, the fence is up (albeit only partially)! The doors were open on Gibson's... the wood paneling inside the Funeral Director's office had been removed, guessing we'll see demo start sometime in the next few weeks.

8th and Fort Development!!!

The mix-use development at the corner of 8th and Fort at submitted applications to the city!! They have submitted a Design review, Conditional use permit and rezone application. So far no renderings, but there are some drawings. The building will have 31 residential units, 3,000 sqft of commercial space and an underground garage. It will also spruce up an existing parking lot behind the building. They will give an additional 10 ft. setback to both 8th and Fort to increase the pedestrian area. The building will be a mix of brick, sandstone, and stucco, so something similar to the Hyde Park Condos.

Edit - Found some colored elevations and thought they looked better

I really love how your city/downtown is coming together. I have only been there twice and that was many years ago. (Your jail was nice too...lol) I'm looking forward to the progress and the new projects that will be coming to you in the near future.

And the news keeps coming...

A new CVS Pharmacy is planned at the corner of Capitol and Ann Morrison Park Dr. They plan on demoing the existing strip retail there and placing the store.
http://pdsonline.cityofboise.org/pds...id=CUP17-00048

And another proposal for the site south of Whole Foods.... a St. Al's neighborhood hospital.
http://pdsonline.cityofboise.org/pds...id=CUP17-00048

Edit - Drawings posted.

God this St Als proposal sucks. That was supposed to be a condo tower back in the day. Was still holding out hope while the land sat undeveloped. This is literally across the street from one of the best parks in the city, right on the river. What a joke. I'm betting this is more an expensive billboard for St Als than an actual market need.

That was my take on it too since it's down the street from St. Luke's...
Take it out into on of the neighborhoods that lacks convenient access to the hospitals like Northwest Boise, Southeast Boise or North Meridian.
