Most people don't think about how Haddonfield is the only town on the Jersey side that Patco runs below surface grade, other than in downtown Camden.

That's a pretty good assessment of those towns, ha. The train going underground in Haddonfield is interesting, I'd love to know the history of that since like you said it's the only one on the NJ side outside Camden where that happens.

I think "it will be people that understand cities better" sums up a good bit of the relationship between the city and the suburbs. Most people basically ignore the existence of those 77,000 people there, relegating it to a place where crime happens and that's it (regardless of the fact that
their kids are going there to get high). Outside the few walkable places in South Jersey on the PATCO line, it's pretty much a gluttony of suburban sprawl, which obviously you know. You're right, the investment'll have to come from elsewhere, which is why it'd be neat to see Camden and Philly work together on projects if possible to bring investment to the area. I don't know how, since I guess they'd technically be competing, but.. Camden has more in common with Philly than the suburbs.

Cool! I thought it was important to get some pictures of the Hotel Plaza coming down the other day. If there was ever any other major developments going on there in the future, I'd be there to get a few pictures.
