Wow

Whats really crazy is that, most of that is BUILT, or on the way up at least!!!

With the exception of Oxfords, Holt Renfrew, and the Signature placeholders, it seems everything else is very much reality!!

On top of that is L tower there?? ( Maybe I see it .. Looks short)

I do not see the 10 York , or the Harbor PLaza towers??

Still this is way more reality than fantasy at this point !! NUTZZZ

That is an amazing rendering of what Toronto could look like in the not too distant future. I certainly hope all the big ones get built.
Simply put: wow!

^ Now that is impressive. WOW. I see the Cityplace Signature towers, Ten York, Aura, Massey Tower, One Bloor, Harbour Plaza, Holts tower, One Yonge, Oxford, but still missing a few like the Mirvish towers.

Imagine if Toronto one day gets to that level.... insane.

If all our proposals get built, we'd then need to double our count of 100m+ buildings and have about 15 super talls to rival Manhattan (847 100m+ buildings). I don't think people realize how gigantic that skyline actually is. Chicago! Now there's a city we'd equal and likely pass if the proposals on the table get built. It would be Toronto (387) vs. Chicago (335).

Are you sure you're seeing One Yonge? You can see the Toronto Star building and there are no towers directly behind it or to the right.

Will the towers in Yorkville etc really appear that tall from the lake though? Perspective seems off.

This looks like it is supposed to be the view from the Leslie st spit, where you can more clearly see the northward spread of the skyline. You will be able to see the stuff in Yorkville, but yeah, the perspective is wacky. They won't look that tall.

yep the perspective is off. the yonge + bloor proposals would look much smaller, probably around 1/2 the height they are in that image.

If anything, AUra is too short. Look at 44 Charles and compare to One Bloor and Holt Renfrew.

Compare it to Scotiabank. They appear to be the same height. That isn't possibly correct (from that angle).

Holt Renfrew is as tall as Scotia with at least a 100 foot higher elevation. Aura is at least 50 feet higher in elevation. Again, look at the height of 44 charles which has existed since 1972.

This viewpoint is as close to my backyard as anyone else's. I see it once a week when in Toronto.

44 Charles appears much taller than it is due to being up hill doesn't it? The same would apply to other structures in the Bloor/Yorkville area

Looks good but it needs a good pinnacle in the form of a tower at least 350m, preferably in either the financial district or between it and Yorkville.

This rendering is before One Yonge. When this rendering was made, we were speculating that a 100 floor tower would be built somewhere along Yonge, or Yorkville. But weren't sure. This rendering is from December of last year 2012

^ You are right, there is no One Yonge in this rendering, and I do agree some of the buildings by Bloor would not look that tall from this angle. Regardless, I don't think people realize how much change is STILL coming to Toronto. We have three mega projects proposed which would totally change Toronto's skyline forever if ONE of these three were built, forget all of them. They are: Mirvish towers, Oxford project, and the One Yonge proposal. If any one of these gets the green light eventually in their current form, they will forever change the city.

On top of the super projects that are proposed or nearly done (ICE, Aura, L Tower), we have more realistic towers that are very likely to become reality over the next 3-8 years including the 730ft+ Ten York tower, 530ft One York office tower, 735ft/765ft Harbour Plaza towers, the CityPlace Signature towers (estimated in the 700-850ft range), the 670ft Massey Tower, One Bloor (near 850ft), Casa II and III (600ft/665ft), Bay Adelaide E (645ft), Ernst & Yonge Tower (615ft), Eau Du Soleil (750ft), U Condos (604ft), INDX (580ft), and the newly announced 460 Yonge St (650-660ft), Yonge & Rich (530ft), possibly the Holts tower? (910ft) and the list goes on. There are many new buildings going up over the coming years which will change the city, even without the mega projects going ahead.

Don't get me wrong, its a great future render n'all and I hate to be a downer but Aura and Holt Renfrew won't appear taller than Scotia plaza despite being on higher ground from that location.

Insertname sums it up;

That render is from an elevated point of view, from ground level they would look shorter.

Cursed perspective, making more distant objects appear smaller. Reality can be such a b*tch sometimes.
