Bovis Lend Lease will start construction on British Land's new flagship development at 122 Leadenhall Street in Spring 2007. At 225m, it will be the tallest skyscrapers in the City when completed in late 2010.

Arab Investments is in talks with French construction company Bouygues to build the Pinnacle / Bishopsgate Tower with start date in Spring 2008.

BL have confirmed they are carrying out construction of the Leadenhall building so as soon as demolish of the current sites is complete they will crack straight on with constructing the tower which should be rising sometime in 2008

bit of news:

- Planning permission for the revised scheme at Riverside South - Phase 2 (CW) will be granted at next Strategic Planning Committee (21 June). Delivery of the 3 buildings is planned to be phased between Jan. 2011 and July 2012.

- HSBC plans massive job cuts at its European HQ office in Canary Wharf and to sublet up to half a million sq ft. Clifford Chance is also marketing 80,000 sq ft of space at its London headquarters at Canary Wharf and The Telegraph has vacated around 140,000 sq ft at 1 Canada Square. Ballymore has commenced construction on its 800,000 sq ft speculative development at Arrowhead Quay. There is a further 400,000 sq ft of speculative space under construction at Churchill Place.

- British Land has identified 4 Broadgate as a redevelopment prospect for a new tower scheme with substantially increased floor areas. Construction is due to commence early in 2009. British Land is also exploring the possibilities of higher rise development in other areas and/or adding extra floors to some existing buildings.

Lots of news in London at the mo: GPE will start in Jan. 2009 its stunning tower scheme at Blackfriars Road with delivery planned in April 2011. As indicated above this coincides with BL starting construction on a new tower at 4 Broadgate early in 2009. GPE also plans in the medium term a new tower at Thomas Street, next to the proposed Shard of Glass.

Have to say Arrowhead Quay is deathly dull. They submitted a few ideas for cladding & appear to have gone for the dullest- yyyyyyyyyyawn.

Westiminster Council and English Heritage have presented the new buffer zone to protect the world heritage staus of Westminster. Proposed towers to be impacted are Morgan Stanley's and P&O's Elizabeth House and the Land Sec. developments at Victoria. EH has also made it clear they will call in the Beetham residential tower and Doon Street residential tower in Southwark if they are approved.

Good news re. the residential development at 22 Marsh Wall / Canary Wharf.

Young Property Portfolio manager has purchased the freehold of the 45-storey East Tower, also to be known as "The Landmark" for £400 million. The acquisition comes 6 months after the firm purchased the 31-storeys West Tower.

The 45-storeys tower will be marketed to both private and institutional investors. The development will be built by Chalegrove Properties.

Completion is due in 2010.

Other news: Qatar and Dubai investors and Gulf-based funds who bought the forthcoming 288m Pinnacle and 202m Heron Tower in the City have teamed up to create a new vehicle looking at investing oil-money into other development opportunities in Central London.

This is something I've been working on for the last few days, and which hopefully illustrates the sheer scale
of transformation occuring across London.

The pano itself was taken from a block of flats in Forest Hill. It was publicly accessible and I was able to reach
the 7th floor. Every cluster can be seen here - from Battersea to Lambeth, Westminster, Elephant & Castle,
Southwark, The City, right the way through to Greenwich, Canary Wharf and the Docklands.

I used Google Earth to get some of the heights and locations accurate. There are probably some midrises and
smaller towers I've left off, but the important ones are all there. More than 50% of what you see here either
has planning permission, or is undergoing demolition/construction work.

To be honest, it's more like 2015 than 2012... I've included things like the Broadgate Centre expansion,
Bishopsgate Goodsyard, Heron Quays West, Vauxhall Bondway, etc. which are longer term developments.
Anyway, this is the largest rendering I've ever done. Hope you like it.
