And Antallainen has received a three game suspension from the league for that hit in the last game. With both Spence and Pelletier out, I think the Cats are done for the season.

The reseeding is what pits Moncton & Halifax against each other since Hali is the 1 seed they play whoever is the lowest seed that moved onto the 2nd round.

Lets hope we can get more than 3500 out to the Avenir on Tuesday Wednesday given the Cats are playing their biggest rival.

Game 6 and 7 the Scotiabank Centre was deafening. I went to both games.

Watch and listen to the reaction to game 6's go ahead goal for the Mooseheads:
(Start at 2:08 mark)
Video Link

Patrick Roy tried to challenge the goal and was unsuccessful and lost his shit.

He was then taunted with the whole arena chanting "Paa-trick" for the rest of game 6 and 7.

Shouldn't be a problem. Interest always builds after the first round of the playoffs, and, as you say, the Moose are up there as our biggest rivals.

They are weekday games, so it won't be a sellout, but I would hope for at least 5000 fans.

From TSN:

Quote:
Halifax Mooseheads fans chirped Patrick Roy with some funny chants during Game 7

BarDown Staff

Tuesday night, the Halifax Mooseheads and Quebec Remparts played Game 7 for a spot in the next round of the QMJHL playoffs. Halifax won Game 6 at home in convincing fashion over Patrick Roy's team and they had home ice for the final game of the series, too.

Roy is a very unique coach in terms of his strategies, such as pulling his goalie very early, and his temper (he gets fired up a lot), and the Halifax crowd was giving it to him with some great chants throughout the game.

The most creative chant of the night came late in the third period of the game. With Roy's team down, fans chanted at him to pull his goalie with a ton of time still left final frame.

Halifax won Game 7 by a score of 3-1 and will face Moncton in the 2nd round.

As I recall in that game in Moncton Roy after losing the game, gave the fans the finger while going off the ice. It was received with boos and more chanting.. he seems like he is very easy to set off.

I find the rivalry between SJ has really calmed down since 2010. A lot of it has to do with the cyclical nature of junior hockey. For the most part SJ's dominate years Moncton has been in a rebuild and same thing for Monctons strong years. Without the teams lining up its led to mostly blowout and uninteresting games between the 2.

Halifax and Moncton's cycles have lined up a lot closer leading to heated playoff series & meaningful regular season games.

If SJ & Monctons cycle lines up again it would stir up the rivalry again. I also don't find SJ to have to overly passionate fanbase compared to Halifax.

The Wildcats/Islanders rivalry has actually been more heated than SJ/MON.

Indeed.

Over the last several seasons the Islanders seem to have been the Wildcat's primary nemesis. They seem to beat us a lot.

Mooseheads take game 1 by a score of 5-3 with 7619 in attendance. Next game is tomorrow. If the wildcats can get the split in Halifax we will have our three games in Moncton

Format is 2-2-1-1-1. Baie-Comeau series was 2-3-2 to reduce travel costs.
