Like Leaf Fans, it will take more then a few bad Years for Habs fans to walk away from their team. Just read an article yesterday out of the U.S saying that expect Toronto to square off against Edmonton for the cup this year. As a Leaf fan I will believe it when I see it and just hope for some exciting hockey this year and nothing else.

It does not appear to bode well I agree, but it's still only pre-season.

Habs fandom is pretty entrenched. I doubt there is as much potential for patience as with Leafs fans, but still it does run very deep.

I am one of those Nashville supporters. The Subban/Markov pair was the most exiting thing on the team and it was taken from me (and other ex Habs fans) by that psycopath. I'd rather not follow hockey than support a team run by this guy. How do you expect me to follow a team where only Gallagher is sympathetic to me?

Judging from the off-season moves, I don't regret my decision one bit. Habs will be the worst team in the league.

PK leading by example...

P.K. is also a non-citizen technically working in the United States as a "guest".

Yes surely the Habs are worse than New Jersey, Colorado, Vancouver, Detroit, Arizona, Buffalo...

Just so sad to read Nicko. I don't like Bergevin's moves or reign but I like my team and it's logo and I'll always stick to it. I hate the Leafs and a lot of their fans but I have to admit, they're as loyal as one can be. Same with Oilers fans.

If the Habs had a deep playoff run you'd be the first to jump on the wagon I bet.

*sarcasm*?.......or trolling? As far as this board is concerned, I think there is one person. Louder than most I agree, but certainly not representative of true TEAM supporters.

Loyalty is a tricky business when it comes to sports. Leafs fan's unwavering commitment that sells out games and boosts tv numbers even when the team is mismanaged helped keep us in mediocrity far longer than we had to be. I can understand being loyal to the image, the players, the history of the team etc., but at the end of the day the only voice the fans have is their wallet. With numerous owners who would gouge taxpayers for new arenas and leave town if they didn't get their way, I don't see why fans should be expected to deal with management that appears to so vehemently oppose their beliefs.

I mean, you can protest by not going to games and watching them less, but switching teams?

Some Leafs and Oilers fans would look pretty ridiculous now if they switched teams 3 years ago.

Why would it be a distraction to the players? They have as much say in the arena debate as any of us (maybe less if they are not voters in Calgary). All they need to do is lace up the skates and play hockey. Where they play is irrelevant. Or it should be.

Subban's antics are embarrassing for his teammates. He is not well liked. He thinks he's being funny but he just makes a fool of himself.

Jagr to the Flames

@FriedgeHNIC

Jagr is done to CAL. $1M+$1M in bonuses. I think it might not be announced until he gets to the city, but there is a commitment.

Will he project to be in the Flames' top 6? I'd think he'd still command significant ice time and would not like to be a 3rd or 4th liner

Looking forward to Wednesday nights opener, should be some good storylines there

HE will see time on all lines I would guess. Jags is pretty slow these days, but he can hang onto the puck for long periods of time and can generate offense down lo just as good as ever. My biggest concern about having him on the top line is that Johnny is already a bit of a liability defensively, so adding Jags on that line likely won't help.

I would say Jags will be on the third line with Versteeg & Bennett and get some PP time.
