Not great news about the project, but it's still moving ahead at least.
Office space scrapped from major Bedrock development downtown

"What’s the logic of this? To zoom out, COVID changed downtowns, this downtown and downtowns across the country," Jared Fleisher, a top Gilbert deputy, said during Wednesday's DDA meeting. "We know for downtowns to thrive, they have to be live/play. It’s all about betting on residential population and creating the kind of entertainment amenities that are the new lifeblood of our downtowns. Banking on offices ain’t gonna do it for our downtowns, and that’s what you have here."
A Bedrock spokesperson on Thursday confirmed that softness in the office market resulted in the removal of the office component.

Interesting to note that 0.76 acres will be left for surface parking. Possibly unusual given the site's location that could have easily been a multi-story parking garage. Maybe a sign that there is still hope for something significant there?
Also, groundbreaking on the COSM portion is scheduled for April 17th while phase 2 is scheduled for October 2026 with strict conditions if the deadline is missed.
