Reminds me of the parking in Strathcona Park. what is actually a pretty small parking lot cleaves the park in two, and really disrupts the overall quality of the park. Seems totally unnecessary and ends up being used mostly as overflow for embassies and a hang out for off-duty Ubers.

Have you ever been to Westboro Beach on a hot, sunny, Saturday? There's already an unpaved gravel lot inside the neighbourhood boundaries, full to the brim. All the surrounding streets are also full of parked cars. Couple that with $2M NIMBY homes, and BAM, you get a segregated, parkway-access-only parking lot, AND you probably get no parking signs within the neighbourhood.
Plus, there's an existing parking lot for about 50 cars right next to the existing beach hut. Is this being deleted? It's also full, and I never even bother when driving down here, because if it's full, you're screwed for a 20 minute detour to the local neighbourhood parking area.
Edit: When possible, I bike, unless friends who don't have bikes are also coming. Then we drive. No way we're spending an hour on a hot bus after being at the beach.
