Thanks! Being an entertainment complex, I wanted it to be more exciting - those glass panels on the podium will be lit - more like this - Ten York Toronto...

A 2 tower plan. The tall tower are condos, and the shorter is a hotel and entertainment space.

Podium levels house a casino and other entertainment venues.

Spectacular.

That would definitely be the tallest in town for quite some time.

It would be for sure! The camera angle I used does accentuate it's height though. It is 60 something floors. So yes a clear standout in the sky, but not too tall. the top will have a light feature as well to be seen from far away.

I made this quick, just for fun. I didn't put much detail into it, I was just trying out a different shape for a building. It is right across from Copps Coliseum and Dustin's Bay York Centre.

Bay York Centre Update

Forgot to post this more finished render. Nothing fancy - just placed on Google Street View...

Some good sketches happening here, though Freud might have something to say about the, ahem, height of some of your buildings.

No doubt these in reality would be too tall. They are more of a "what if...". Also too, the camera angle I use really accentuates the height of the towers. From that vantage point it does look lonely, but I was keeping in mind the other render I built close by which is also tall.

I'll start making smaller projects.

I have no idea where to ask this, so I figure this is as good a place as any. How tall would a building built in Hamilton have to be to be visible from Toronto? Could anything built downtown ever be visible, or would it have to be by the lake or something?

You mean from the CN Tower? Somebody on this forum took some pics of Hamilton from Toronto a few years back but I can't remember who it was.

Really? When I was up there I totally couldn't make out Hamilton at all. Of course the lake was blindingly reflective that day so that may have been an issue. I had originally been thinking of either up in the office towers or from the island or something. I wasn't really sure if any angle would work.

Even from the CN Tower, I haven't been able to make out Hamilton either.

It really depends on what color and how reflective the facing is. Toronto can be easily seen because there is no wall of escarpment in the background to disguise the silhouette of the towers. I guess anything 60 floors and above would maybe start to be visible.

And here is something else I was working on for the north west corner of Main and Caroline. It wasn't turning out exactly like I wanted so I stopped working on it about half way through. I figured I'd post it anyways...

After posting that ^ , I couldn't wait to post more of it so I picked a location quick, made a base, and placed the towers on it. I still have to do a lot to this (the tower designs aren't completed). I am not sure if this will be the actual location or if I'll pick somewhere else. I've got an idea for a podium design that will hopefully turn out really cool. I'll post updates as I work on it over the next few weeks.

I loaded almost every project I've posted in this thread so far into one photo, with a couple Hamilton landmarks for size comparison:
