Supposedly offshore buyers are bidding up the prices on condo properties now (according to an article from BIV).

Surrey is such a bargain compared to Marine Gateway and the other mall-centric developments. An extra 200k for a slightly shorter train commute. All the other amenities on on par.

I'm impress how MC2 has turned out. I had my doubts initially (a James Cheng design and a cheesy marketing name) but it's turned out quite decent. The spandrels are bad but it could have been a lot worse.

I agree. It's completely bland but unoffensive. The spandrel, IMO, isn't that bad. It's uniform and isn't overly used. It would have been nice to go with a darker shade, though.

Overall this is good infill.

Agreed with Jebby on this one - bland, not offensive, symmetrical spandrel makes it okay.

Good updates! Soon the buildings would be lit up when people start moving in.

Clean uniform designs, plus the heights and LED features, make these towers, including those at the Marine Gateway, winners. They are pleasing to the eyes, made sweeter by the fact that they are all visible from great distances.

That's huge - looks great.
I'll bet there'll be a lot of people taking pictures of it and parts will get worn down from rubbing the lucky tree.

As I was taking pictures I saw quite a few other people stopping to do the same thing. It really commands your attention.

Ha! It kind of looks like it.

I'm hoping this installation isn't immediately vandalized. It seems to have the potential being so prominent. Especially the interior.

I hope that this project's street front brings an interesting if not exciting retail mix to the Marpole area.

Very nice that the tourists can see it on the YVR-DT skytrain line too. Plus its gold! Who doesn't like gold?

I took some pics of MC2 and the completed Douglas Coupland art installation today.

They did a great job with the landscaping.
