Seems to be the way it works in New York. Almost all new building permits are "disapproved" before things are set right. Plans for the entire building haven't been filed, so its likely something minor.

Anyway, it's just a matter of weeks before we get word on just how high the building is and when it will rise. I wouldn't be surprised to see the "Garry Barnett" method of construction here.

Quote:
According to published reports, CIM Group, along with Mr. Macklowe who remains involved in the project, is expected to start work on that stalled project some time this year.

And don't forget this from the Post

Quote:
Macklowe is expected to make a "major" announcement regarding the site come September.

Can someone post the site diagram that CIM filed with the DOB? It's a PDF, so I don't know how to post it. Anyway, it indicates that the tower will rise over a very small portion of the retail base, which leads me to believe that it will be quite thin and very tall.

1,700 footer with a Harrah's and Caesar's on top!

On a serious note, when is this going to break ground, R-Dub?

BTW, London can't be co-capital any longer. NYC doesn't have riots. >

Sorry for my delayed reply, lads. I can't be specific, but I have inside information, and while this won't be as tall as Lodgy Lion predicted (I.e., 1700 feet), people will be very happy. Hopefully, Macklowe and CIM will formally release the design soon.

I'd rather have a good design than a tall building.

The design will be awesome.

It's amazing how many amazing néw towers will soon sprout from the financial capital of the world. Being the only global city in the US has its benefits!

Could we have a vague but tantalizing lower bound that's something other than 1,000ft?
