Usually the chinese build crazy fast especially for supertalls. Has there been a delay on this building? What has been taking it so long to go vertical and to complete the foundation?

Why do many Chinese supertalls have a circular foundation, regardless of the actual building shape?

The circle is acting like two arches put together so the excavation walls remain supported while keeping the area where the tower is going in clear.

Because the government is paying for them with the intention of not making money. Much like the Burj Dubai, most of these supertalls will end up being money holes.
