I can't wait to check it out. Those are decent prices compared to where I'm currently stuck. The LTH is going to do very well indeed, I suspect. That patio alone is killing me.

Line was HUGE outside and down John St. at around 12:30 a.m.

There must have been 50+ people in line plus two cops hanging out at the front of the line in case anyone becomes rowdy.

I rode by around 11:30 - lineups out both doors and a couple cops to keep the peace.

I stopped in last night around 8pm. Food menu limited but the chicken brie sandwich was good. They may be expanding the menu later on, the waitress did say they were just gearing up and didn't have a lot of things, and knocked 25% off our food bill.

Dude, you will be disappointed if you're hoping for a pint of Guinness here. It is not on tap! We simply assumed a tap house would have Guinness on tap and ordered a round. To our horror bottles arrived on our table! I expressed my dismay and the waitress herself expressed surprise that Guinness was not on tap here. In fact, there were only six beer on tap, all domestic. Honestly don't know why they call themselves a tap house! LTH management, if you read this, GET GUINNESS ON TAP and improve your tap selection, or else drop 'Tap' from your name!

Anyway, my little rant is over. All in all the place was nice and I'd probably visit occassionally but LTH certainly won't be a regular haunt for me.

Whoa, I figured they'd have a huge selection, like a good pub. It sounds like a sports bar selection: Blue, Canadian, Coors Light, Bud...

About 11:30 last night, the line up on John Street was down to the Connaught Building. Lots of hot people in line! The new place to be seen.

I'm of Irish ancestory and couldn't give a rip if they have Guinness on tap or not--I imagine a good portion of their potential customers will feel the same way...Slainte is right across the street after all. I've been going to bars regularly for well over 10 years--I love beer but have never cared for draught...to each his own I guess. I'm far more impressed by a bar with a good bottled selection with some gems like Creemore Springs or La Fin du Monde.

if this is a trendy place, then perhaps people will tolerate pints of coors. personally, a lack of quality beers on tap might keep me away.

I'm personally gonna give it a bit of a wait. Right now it's a little too busy and happening for me. I don't want to have to deal with a huge crowd when I go. Looks like if I go right now, I might need to yell across the table to talk to whoever I'm with.

There's nothing like a good draught, I'm sure they'll have plenty on tap once things get into full swing there.

you might be waiting a while.
Look at Honest Lawyer - started off jammed everynight and hasn't stopped since.
This place will be even more popular.

My wife and I had dinner at the LTH last night. We both enjoyed it. The atmosphere is great, nice exposed brick everywhere, nice floors, nice tables and chairs.

The food was excellent and not over priced at all. Our bill came to $27 (no alcohol and no appetizer) then they took 25% off becase its a promotion they're doing for their first week.

We ate early, so it wasn't busy at all. I have no idea how busy it is between 6pm and 7pm. but at 5:30 or so there were plenty of tables.

Oh, and I can recomend the Blackened Chicken. It was nice and juicy, with just the right amount of kick.

You do know the Creemore "gem" is just a Molson Coors beer?

A place with a good selection of bottled beer is fine enough for a bar. Chesters on King springs to mind immediately. However, when a place calls itself a tap house one would expect, well, taps. And, as every Guinness drinker knows, the bottle version is far inferior to the draft. Better to not even carry it than to offer it in a bottle.

FairHamilton--spare me your anti-Molson indignation. I have been a faithful Creemore drinker for many years--back to the times when I had to drive to London to buy it because they didn't distribute west of there. Indeed, Molson bought the operation in 2005--but have made absolutely no significant changes to the recipe or brewing process--it is also still preservative-free and microbrewed in Creemore, Ontario. Molson distribution channels assure it's availability throughout the province and it's availability in cans--otherwise, no changes at all...thus calling it "just Molson Coors beer" is misleading and inaccurate--this is not a Kokanee situation.

Figures, I'm too sick to drink. Maybe when I recover their selection will have improved. "London Tap House" is just a name, we knew all along this would be more of a party joint, but still I assumed their taps would at least be average. I would expect them to offer more variety at the restaurant and patio levels.

Regarding the Creemore issue, I know people who have toured their plant recently and rest assured it is still brewed independently. I could tell a Creemore from any Molson product while blindfolded with my nose plugged.

On an unrelated note, someone who worked at Molson once told me Rickards Red was just Canadian with some artificial flavour added. I didn't buy that either.

Creemore even still makes specialty beers, like their urBock fall beer.
