Robert AM Stern rarely disappoints. This one is a pure looker. Looks like it's been there 100 years!

The only tells that it's new is the use of concrete panels instead of stone or terracotta, larger windows, and somewhat simpler detailing. The double height window bay detailing on the 6-7th floors for instance would be condensed into a single window on a classic Art Deco tower, simply because everything would have been hand crafted or at least made of smaller elements instead of a monolithic panel. Overall, a very handsome Stern Deco white concrete building.
