Well, panoramic views from up there will be unique and there'll be all amenities you get in ultra luxury hotels. So it's much the same kind of stuff as what you get in Manhattan's billionaires row.

Maybe some if not most wealthy people will still like their mansions or large apartments in central Paris better. Maybe some apartments in those towers will be purchased as mere speculative products, as is the case sometimes in New York. But these will clearly be a hit anyway, simply because there's nothing like that over the metro area yet.

Moreover, again, the towers are actually neighboring Neuilly-sur-Seine, a suburban town full of rich people just across the river.
The developer knows where he is. He wouldn't build such a luxury thing that might cost up to €3 billion anywhere.

Hopefully, we know how much penthouses sell, just out of curiosity. Although I doubt the developer and purchasers would boast about it.

There's finally no one left in the buildings to be demolished, to make way to the supertall mixed-use twins.

For the record, this is what's going to finally be torn down. It's been more or less abandoned since the developer showed up and said he wanted his twins built there.

Long string of French red tape stuck to the concrete wall, to officially enforce demolition.

It took 10 long years to make everybody move out of there.

For those who like this kind of historic brutalism, don't be sad. The brutalist complex was made of 5 of these buildings and only 3 will be razed.
The 2 to survive will be refurbished by the developer. Dwellers made a deal with him.
I bet when there's only 2 left, people will appreciate and like them much better.

Cancelled

https://www.zawya.com/en/business/pa...oject-yc3rm4do

Quote:
PARIS- Local French authorities said on Monday they had put a final term to plans by Russian developper Emin Iskenderov to build the luxury Hermitage twin towers complex in the heart of the Paris La Defense business district.

The board of local public institution Paris La Defense unanimously voted against finalising a promise to sell made to Iskenderov's group Hermitage as the project "lacked financial and technical guarantees", the statement said.

The 320-meters high twin Hermitage towers project, designed by British architect Norman Foster, had been criticized by opponents for its treatment of local residents and met a host of legal challenges since its launch in 2007.

Sigh.

Of.

Relief.

An undoubtedly striking design even if you aren't a fan of the top heavy taper. Would be welcome in a number of other cities, just not in Paris. Also fuck Russia and everything it has its despicable hands on.
