Love the design. I think this will be one of those iconic buildings everyone wishes were 20 stories taller 10 years from now - much like Frost.

Agreed, though I think it's location by the water will keep it from getting swallowed up completely like Frost. Conrad Residences may hide some of it's south side if it ever gets built, but that sounds like a good problem to have.

That said, let's get this one built! It's too nice of a design not to.

Seemed a bit out of left field. Don't see this breaking ground for several years if ever.

I wonder if this is due to the window washing crane. Or, at least if it was boomed out I could see it being 20’ taller than the roof parapet.

Site plan extension was filed, behind the scenes action. The project itself has been removed from Manifolds website, a change in plans perhaps?

You would think it would morph into another hotel, idk why they wouldn’t want that from the start being so close to the new convention center

from ABJ

"Plans for a new downtown tower near the convention center are showing signs of life after years of laying dormant.

The high-rise, which would rise on Block 16 across the street from the convention center, is still in the works and would potentially replace downtown’s P. F. Chang’s restaurant and other businesses, according to a site plan application filed with the city. Details are scarce, but the application represents the first spark of activity for the project in years, and at least one developer previously working on it is no longer involved.

The precise size of the planned tower is unknown, with the application only stating that it's for a high-rise with ground-floor retail space. In 2022, plans called for the tower to be used as office space, rise 43 stories and consist of up to 738,000 square feet total."

I call BS on that article. The only site plan application for the site was an extension filed in March for Block 16's previously approved site plan. The ABJ seems to be interpreting it as a new project. If the site plan had been withdrawn/resubmitted instead, it could mean that the project was being updated.

Unfortunately, the ABJ has some of the laziest "journalists" out there. None of the ones who cover CRE, RRE or demographics knows anything about what they cover. One would think because of that fact, they would ask a lot of questions. They don't. I grew tired of writing them to correct errors or enlighten them after spewing some sort of garbage.

Okay...I'm off the soapbox. Hope everyone is having a good day!

I whole heartedly agree with your opinion on the ABJ.
