Awesome to see excavation finally going on! I wish floor plans for the hotel section would be posted so we can see just how they managed to fit so many rooms into such a small space.

The tower crane permit was filed today. This is the first tower crane permit for a large project (300' or more) to be filed in around two years.

The primary tower crane is scheduled to go up during the last weekend in July.

For some reason I can’t get the construction can link to work anymore. It is just saying invalid link for me, hopefully the camera wasn’t removed.

I noticed that as well, just when it was starting to get interesting. Hopefully it will be back online soon. In the meantime here's a street level shot from today.

You can be our construction camera, thanks for the picture! Hopefully the camera comes back online. I like to watch the time lapse at the end that oxblue does, like with the JW.

I walk by there during my lunch hour almost every day. They're definitely making progress, though all of it's in the pit at the moment.

One thing's for sure: Cesar Chavez is going to be a nightmare when that thing finally comes online.

White Lodging always seems to move at break neck pace. If I’m not mistaken, all the same companies that built the JW are working on this project. The JW opened early, incredibly rare for a project of its size. Seems like Marriott Cesar Chavez is also on pace to be completed on time.

This hotel's website is getting updated occasionally. It looks like the name they're going with is "Austin Marriott Downtown", and is opening in July 2020.

Yeah, no dinky canopy here. Unless I'm mistaken, because I don't get out much, that is very unique for Austin. Looks very big league.

I guess you can only stay there if you drive an Audi? Sorry for the giant picture. I linked directly to their website because I'm lazy. https://www.marriott.com/hotels/trav...iott-downtown/

Apparently that's what all the cool people will be driving in 2020.
