Yeah you're right this winter does beat the slushy grey mess that typifies a Toronto winter. But the charm wore off about 2 weeks ago.

I'll take the typical slushy grey mess of a Toronto winter over this -20 bullshit. All the snow is cool, but in reality it's been too cold for even snow for the better part of this winter.

Well, to each his own, but look how bright it is outside today. Beautiful. Lots of snow on the ground and in the trees. Blue skies.
You're right, Gerrard, it is starting to wear out its welcome for me too, but spring is around the corner, and then hopefully a hot, sunny summer. I'll wait for that "great" prognosticator Dave Phillips to render his verdict, and then we'll know the opposite is what we have in store.

Love the pics! I've been in many of the same areas of this thread, but it's funny how slightly different angles like just being across the street makes it look completely different. I really like the rooftop views, especially the one of the girl outside her window. I'm wondering how you found all the different rooftop views? I would have loved to live in an area like Bloor West, Kensington Market, or Cabbagetown in my 20s. Looking at this thread gives me ideas of things to try next time I spend an afternoon in TO. I really like the pic of the bicycle and blurred car in Queen St. W, and I've never seen that angle of Cameron House. I was in there once for a Beer on my way to an Amphitheatre concert.

My stupid optimism in February. We ended up having the coolest, rainiest summer in memory, yet climatologists are saying this was the hottest year on record, globally.

Thanks for the bump!

The elevated views are mostly from parking garages or other publicly-accessible buildings (like the Dragon City Mall in Chinatown and I think there was one from Robart's Library at UofT). Others are from people's apartments.

If you're otherwise looking to get some nice views, there's also Door's Open every May that gives the public access to all sorts of normally private buildings, often quite tall. And then you have rooftop patios and the like. Or if you're feeling adventurous and have no fear of heights you can always break into high-rise construction sites...
