I visited La Rochelle on my way to the islands (Rhe, Aix, Oleron) and even though I was already expecting some of my favorite cityscapes (fortresses on the edge of the sea) I was positively surprised by the exciting, modern, unpretentious and super nautical southern part of the city.
I didn't have time to take too many pics so any locals or visitors are very welcome to enrich this thread
Residential building in front of the sea, extreme South of the city on the coastal way to Aytre.

Older residential building close to the one above, next to plage and point de Minimes.
Office, commercial and school buildings to the South of the cities a spit away from the sea.
Mixed use building in the center of the city close to the Hospital complex and the canal.
