Regina | Pubs and Restaurants

With all the activity in and around downtown, I thought it would be a good idea to start a new thread for more detailed updates, photos, menus etc. from all the new establishments proposed for downtown. Here is an initial list.

No action in the rumoured Famosa location in Tower 2;
20Ten City Eatery on 12th looks ready to open and has a stunning, urban décor; http://instagram.com/20teneatery https://twitter.com/20TenEatery,
Fat Badger Pub on the FW Hill Mall appears to be moving slowly. Décor is traditional pub with lots of booths. This has an affiliation with O'Hanlon's, but is intended to be more upscale;
The former Deborah Dees on 11th and Cornwall confirmed it will be a restaurant by the owners of Flip. Little work appears to have been done inside. It is a beautiful space though.

The Loggies building on Hamilton has apparently been sold. It is apparently to house a martini bar/tapas place called The Capitol.
The Keg on Dewdney and Albert is U/C.
The Chopped Leaf on the FW Hill Mall is moving extremely slowly.
The Taste of Mediterranean franchise on 11th is also moving very slowly.
The Lobby Public House on Broad is open.

What am I missing?

I wonder if 20Ten will have a "patio" in the lobby of Tower III? Would add a little bit more activity to the building.

Famosa is not a rumour but a fact, I know the owner and it is definitely a go with opening targeted for next Spring or Summer. I did notice they've recently covered the windows in the old Western Bank so assume this means demolition to start soon, with construction to follow shortly thereafter. The last update I got from my friend was that they were working on the design, expect high ceilings and modern deco! The plan is also to have a patio out front.

Anyone know if Fat Badger will have a patio?

Was there this weekend and there were a lot of people gathering informally out front on the planters/benches. You would think a patio might be in the plans - but overall there still seems like a bit of work to go in the place. Enjoyed it though - it will no doubt be a welcome addition to the scene downtown.

I know it's just outside of downtown, but what about the Bushwakker? I'll make special trips to Regina to drink there and get friends to bring some back when they're going thru.

This was intended for new places, but I agree Bushwakker is a classic.

Not sure if anyone has noticed but Victoria's Tavern just finished their patio, it is fenced off and small (on the north side of the building). I assume it is for the public and not a staff room kind of thing..

The windows of the Famosa location are now papered over, so maybe construction is starting.

I should probably read the whole title and not just the pubs part. Got a little excited there.

Regina is definitely miles ahead of Winnipeg with the brewpub industry. It's slowly starting to happen here, but there are a lot of city and provincial regulations that were a hindrance. Something along the lines of Bushwakker would make ridiculous amounts of $$ here.

The brew pub that is being opened in the Debra Dee location is going to be fantastic. They are still waiting on architectural drawings, and it is delaying the process a bit. Still hoping for a christmas opening. Super high ceilings and a round, central bar will look amazing in that space. The interior will be done by a designer, but the concept will be dark wood, simple and elegant.

PCL has their construction signs up in the Famosa space in Tower 2.

Had lunch at 20TEN in Tower 3. It was good. It has a very small bar and will not compete with all the new pubs.

The Fat Badger is also open, haven't been but looking forward to having a pint there. Rumour has it they have a pool table!

In other news, I checked out Twenty10 and had a decent experience, would go back. We were chatting to the waitress about their other restaurant, Monterey Bistro. It has been sold to the lady who owned Table 10 and apparently that new owner is re-opening Table 10 in the Monterey Bistro location.

Last night (Thursday) there was a nice vibe downtown centred around Hamilton and Vic. With Victoria's, Flip, Crave, Atlantis and the beautiful weather, there were people and action everywhere.

It was also salsa dancing night on the Plaza which is always great to hear and see.

Chopped Leaf appears to be having a soft opening today.
