I'm very impressed with how reflective the glass is.

Can't wait to see it reach the first frustum portions.

Nick... your photos are always amazing, but today they're just leaving me speechless.

I spotted Vista from I-90 at O'Hare this morning. Definitely it's own peak now.

Nice! Core looks to be at the at the level of the transition to the final frustum.

I'm holding my breath re: the blow through level.
I really hope it doesn't look like total garbage.

Since the city is changing their view on building signs they should also look into allowing blow throughs to be lit at night.

Would definitely help Vista and Nema, but i should hold judgement till they're complete

NEMA doesn't have a blow-through floor.

It is absolutely going to look like garbage, but it's going to look super cool to the fans of the bare concrete behemoth. I read earlier on that the way the glass will be installed will render the blow through floor invisible from ground level, I am just hoping that is isn't too disruptive to the frustum pattern + seamless curtain wall of glass from far away, i.e. skyline view.

I'm sure the blow-through floor won't look nearly as bad as the two-story interruption in Aqua about 2/3 of the way up. I don't know if it's a mechanical floor or where they decided to put the building amenities, but it's a pretty glaring flaw in an otherwise beautifully sculptural building.

I'm sure there are strong opinions on here, but they predate my involvement in this forum.

^I hate it. They should have built it 30 levels lower or added 'arbitrary' balconies.

Anybody remember the Architectronica proposal? Those were some blow through floors

I've admittedly never thought about the Aqua's break in balconies, never bothered me for some reason. Now that you guys have pointed it out, I'm going to wish they added balconies there as well. I am all about height so I'd still rather have those 30 stories!

Lol I worded that wrong. I meant the mechanical level should have been lower where the balconies are less prominent, not that the building should have been shorter.

Ah makes sense. Glad to hear, I thought you must have been a crazy person Whenever I see the Aqua in the clouds I imagine how it would look as 1,000+ ft, ha. Okay I need to stop being off-topic, this post is just going to get deleted.

This was today from Harborside International Golf Center. Roughly 14-15 miles from downtown. Vista has already cemented its position in the skyline.

It's crazy how the Standard Oil Building & John Hancock Center still trump the vista.. even though JHC is nearly a mile behind both.. corporations just don't build massive structures like that anymore.

Nice pun

Also, never knew the skyline was so glorious from that far south, amazing!
